Review: Is $400 asking too much for Lenovo's IdeaPad 3 15?

Lenovo's IdeaPad 3 15 is in the ultra-budget range, appealing to those who need a cheap laptop around the house for casual use. We break down where it excels and where its corners are cut.

Keyboard has plenty of travel, number pad ; Hard to beat the price ; Clear camera with privacy shutter ; Can upgrade RAM and SSD ; Decent speakers

Loose, small touchpad ; HD display is dreadful ; No keyboard backlight ; No USB-C or Wi-Fi 6 ; Plastic chassis is flexible

Bottom line: In the face of a $400 price tag, the IdeaPad 3 15's shortcomings are easier to ignore. It should prove to be a low-end workhorse around the house for school and office work, but watch out for that HD display, loose touchpad, and aging port...

Don't be fooled by the price. Can run Fortnite in 120FPS on ultra, as well as the latest titles.

Better battery.

Great keyboard, slim screen bezels, and clean attractive design

Screen colours are terrible. Sound quality is terrible. Fan noise is obnoxious even on quiet mode. Electronic squealing noises from the laptop when plugged into mains power.

LENOVO Series 3 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel® Core™ i5, GTX 1650, 256 GB SSD

Was looking for an entry level gaming laptop. So far not disappointed and haven't got anything bad to say although I've only had it a short while.

Fans can be quite loud when running a game, if you wear headphones you won't notice as much.

LENOVO Series 3 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel® Core™ i5, GTX 1650, 256 GB SSD

Great laptop, amazing specifications and for a very cheap price. would recommend 100% as this is good for your money and plays games like a dream :)

The 1 thing I am not a huge fan of is the heating fan, it's very loud when the GPU is in use and get's very hot, but I don't mind it because I listen to music while playing so it kind of blocks the fan, but that's it
