Thin, lightweight, and powerful, Lenovo's 710S is among the best affordable ultrabooks.

Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus

The Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus is a great 13-inch notebook that only lacks for battery life.

Thin, lightweight; Bright, vibrant display; Comfortable keyboard; Strong audio; Speedy SSD; Runs cool

Below-average battery life; Undersized right-shift key; A bit pricey

Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus Review

Lenovo is back with another stylish and slim laptop, this one being the Yoga IdeaPad 710S Plus. There's a lot to like about this model, not the least of which is its crisp display and slim bezels, multiple processor options, and fingerprint reader. The...

Slim bezels ; Clean design ; Great display ; Comfortable keyboard ; Stereo audio is great for a laptop

Multiple preinstalled applications ; Touchscreen only on more expensive model

The Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus is proof that great laptops don’t have to come with a massive price tag. With a starting price of $639 USD on Lenovo’s website, this ultrabook falls within the affordability range of many consumers, and no doubt will find...

Lenovo IdeaPad 710S Plus (Core i7) Subnotebook Review

Mobile multimedia. Stylish, compact, light, and versatile. Sounds good, doesn't it? While most subnotebooks live the life of an office machine, the multimedia-suitable 710S refresh allows playing an occasional game. Our test clarifies if the newcomer...

light and slim ; solid, very well-built casing ; stylish-looking surfaces ; fingerprint resistant ; good input devices ; TPM, fingerprint scanner ; bright and high-contrast screen with lots of elbowroom ; no PWM ; GeForce 940MX with GDDR5 ; good WiFi...

counterforce needed to open lid ; few interfaces ; external screen only via USB Type-C ; reflective screen ; not suitable for image editing ; gaming-unsuitable response times ; GeForce 940MX with reduced clock rates ; fan starts to whistle at medium...

Unlike its almost perfect predecessor, we discovered some minor manufacturing flaws in Lenovo's new IdeaPad 710S Plus. However, only the poorly installed touchpad will be significant here. The overall superb screen would have been even better with a...

Lenovo ideapad 710S Review: A High-Value Ultrabook

The new Lenovo ideapad 710S features a magnesium-aluminum construction, a near-borderless display, and is one of 2016's best-looking Ultrabooks.

Beautifully thin metal design ; Excellent quality IPS, anti-glare display ; Great battery life ; Quiet cooling fans ; Solid-sounding speakers

Minimal port selection, and no USB-C ; Keyboard layout quibbles ; Top-tier configurations are pricey ; Touch display not offered

Lenovo IdeaPad 710S-13ISK 80SW0031US Notebook Review

Small and affordable. The lowest-end SKU for the Ideapad 710S is actually very fairly priced at $700 USD for anyone in need of a lightweight and portable 13.3-inch notebook with respectable performance and battery life.

bright display backlight; near complete sRGB coverage ; small, lightweight, and attractive design ; aluminum and magnesium build ; relatively easy serviceability ; user-upgradeable M.2 SSD ; quiet system fans ; good battery life ; large touchpad

keyboard keys with soft feedback ; no glossy or touchscreen options ; limited gaming performance ; non-upgradeable RAM ; no USB Type-C ports ; weak display lid

Perhaps the most noticeable advantage of the Ideapad 710S over the Yoga 900, Spectre 13, MacBook Air 13, or XPS 13 is its lower cost. Its base SKU like the one we have here offers a very lightweight and small package due to its narrow bezel for...

Lenovo IdeaPad 710S-13ISK (Core i7) Subnotebook Review

Noble companion. Lenovo did a good job with the new aluminum subnotebook in terms of design. A quick look at the specs suggests decent performance but also reveals the meager port variety. What about the input devices, display, emissions and the runtimes?

light and thin ; sturdy aluminum case with great build quality ; very nice and noble surfaces ; fingerprints not visible ; good keyboard ; bright and high-contrast display with wide viewing angles ; extremely fast SSD ; GPU with eDRAM ; quiet and cool

different models with the same designation ; lid cannot be opened with one hand ; no maintenance hatch ; very meager port selection ; Mini-HDMI ; rather weak WLAN performance ; bad gliding capabilities of the Clickpad ; PWM at 50 % brightness and less...

The compact featherweight Lenovo IdeaPad 710S-13ISK left a great impression during our review and did not really reveal any serious drawbacks. A big part of this impression comes down to the convenient aluminum-magnesium case, because we think it looks...

Lenovo Ideapad 710S Review – A Killer Budget Laptop for Students

College is a time of compromise — mainly, a compromise between wanting the best and definitely not having that kind of money. Ponying up for a flagship laptop like the Lenovo Yoga 910 might be out of the question, but there are still some nice value...

Attractive and sturdy design with a 180-degree hinge, excellent bright display with good colors and a thin bezel, very good performance for the money, great keyboard, very good speaker system, solid battery life

Lacks a touchscreen, comes with too much bloatware, SSD is on the slow side
