Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2

The Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 fails to impress with parts that are below netbook standards.

Color variations offered. Very light despite a 6-cell battery.

Keyboard is too small for a 10-inch netbook. Touchpad and mouse buttons are puny in size. Price is too high for a below average netbook. ExpressCard slot is gone.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 review: Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2

Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2

Slimmer design, lighter chassis, and lower price than previous model.

Ugly, protruding battery pack; no ExpressCard slot.

Lenovo's popular IdeaPad S10 Netbook has been slimmed down and its price reduced, making it a better Netbook--as long as you can live without ExpressCard.

Review: Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2

To call Lenovo's IdeaPad S10-2 a modest upgrade to its dazzling IdeaPad S10 would be an understatement. Even Lenovo seems to get this, giving this...

Upgraded battery and screen brightness correct the few defects of the original S10, arguably making it the finest netbooks on the market. 3-G radio option available for

Flaky touchpad. Disappointing occasional bugginess. New, dot-studded pattern on shell: Love it or hate it

Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 Review

As evolutionary updates go you don't get more basic than a cosmetic refresh, so imagine our surprise to find Lenovo guilty of just such a relaunch. The Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 takes the company's original S10 netbook and, most obviously, reworks the...

Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 Review

Lenovo went with an extended battery that significantly improves runtime over the smaller flush-mount one. The downside to this is it sticks out the back, and raises the netbook up off a surface about 0.75". Some could argue that it moves the keyboard...

Good looks and excellent build quality ; Great battery life ; Good performance ; Easy to upgrade

Keyboard feels cramped ; Extended battery doubles the thickness in the rear

Normally, users buying a netbook (outside of the ASUS N10 with dedicated graphics) understand that gaming just isn't going to be realistic. For this reason we find 3D benchmarks, which normally register very slow performance, to not be as relevant for...

Lenovo S10-2

Stylish and slim. Runs very cool and quiet., Pro: Good looking and slim. Runs very quite and cool

Bluetooth costs extra, keyboard has limited travel., Con: Keyboard doesn't have good travel. No Bluetooth on standard configuration

The Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 is one of the better looking netbooks and one of the thinnest (not counting the battery hump). The system runs cool and quiet, and the hard drive and memory slots are very easy to access, making it ideal for those who want to...

Lenovo ideapad S10-2 netbook

A Jack of all trades is probably the fastest way to describe the S10-2

The problem with the S10-2 is that there is nothing outstanding about it. It feels as though Lenovo wanted to release a “no-frills” netbook with the S10-2. Yes, you might argue that all netbooks are similarly configured but at least you can get a...
