Review Lenovo Ideapad S10e Netbook

Ambivalent Newcomer. Alike nearly all big and small manufacturers

Mostly quiet; WLAN, LAN, Bluetooth; Low temperatures; Good expandability via ExpressCard/34; Warranty extension up to 36 month possible

Reflecting display, not appropriate for outdoor operation; Keyboard layout needs time to get used to.; Location of interfaces partly inconvenient; Test sample had minimal defects in terms of workmanship; Depending on the applications the fan is quiet,...

The competitors like Asus Eee PC 1000H and Samsung NC10 are clearly better than the Ideapad S10e in important key aspects, display and battery life, but loose in expandability.

Review of Lenovo Ideapad S10e

When Lenovo introduced its two new models, the IdeaPad S9 and IdeaPad S10, they also introduced the ‘e' versions of these models that were intended for students and teachers. What we are reviewing today is the ‘e' version of the …

Based on our first-hand experience with this netbook, it’s hard to imagine it being a big seller as it’s a ‘déjà-vu' in many ways. With the uncomfortable keyboard and not-so-good battery, the Lenovo Ideapad S10e is not considered a winner to us as...

Review: Lenovo's S10e Linux Ideapad

Cost is, without a doubt, a big driver in the success of these machines. You can find any number of models for something around the $300 price point. These are fully capable machines with typically a screen size in the 7" range. Newer models have hit...

Although we didn't actually weigh the two devices, the S10e seemed a bit lighter. We tested a unit with a black molded plastic case that seemed durable enough but not the same as the rugged-feeling metal case of the HP 2133. Battery life was a little...

The Lenovo IdeaPad S10e netbook has been designed with the education market in mind. It's slightly different to the [[artnid:268561|IdeaPad S10|Review...

Includes ExpressCard/34 slot, good battery life, includes Splashtop interface

Smaller screen and resolution than the previous model, only two USB 2.0 ports

Despite its reduced size and resolution, the Lenovo IdeaPad S10e is one of the best netbooks on the market. It's very well built, it has an expansion slot and its battery lasts a long time. Its keyboard is hard to get used to, but some of the people we...

Lenovo IdeaPad S10e review

Lenovo's netbook goes from business to personal

Good performance ; Works well with Ubuntu

Awkward key placement ; Tiny trackpad

A decent all-rounder, but please, Lenovo: swap those Fn and Ctrl keys, and give the trackpad more room!

Lenovo IdeaPad S10e notebook

In the UK, Lenovo is known for its corporate ThinkPad range - which it bought the rights to from IBM a couple of years ago. As such, it's easy to forget that the company also produces a range of consumer laptops. The latest to arrive is the IdeaPad S10...

That screen, robust quality, highly portable

Average battery life, keyboard not as good as we hoped

The Lenovo IdeaPad S10e is a good netbook, but not a great one. The screen is much better than average, but there are few other stand-out features. We were impressed by the quality of the chassis, but the keyboard didn’t live up to our expectations....

Lenovo S10e review

Our sample Lenovo S10e was finished in matt black and has a rigidity to its construction rarely seen elsewhere. Take the keyboard, for example - almost zero flex and a good honest keyboard that stands out as one of the better micro keyboards we've seen.

Despite some inexcusable shortcomings such as tortuous mouse buttons and a reflective screen, we couldn’t help admiring the Lenovo S10e for its overall build quality which inspires confidence as you handle it. It also has a curiously workable keyboard,...
