Lenovo's budget-minded LOQ 15 is easy to type on and competent for 1080p play, but this gaming laptop's weighty plastic build and ho-hum screen keep it from top marks.

The Lenovo LOQ15 has better build quality than the average gaming laptop in this price range, but its performance is still on the low side.

Lenovo's budget gaming machine is potent but thirsty.
Good level of power ; Full-size HDMI 2.1 ; Pleasant keyboard feel
Unexciting screen ; Bit heavy ; No Thunderbolt
This budget gaming laptop is useful for productivity and creative apps as well as shooting aliens, and while its weight, poor battery life and relatively unexciting screen mean you’ll be wanting to use it on a desk with an external screen (and some USB...

The Lenovo LOQ 15 is Ideapad Gaming series reborn - can a new name set a new bar? We take it thorough the tests and find out.
+ Powerful AMD Ryzen CPU ; + Fan noises does not produce whine ; + Decent keyboard actuation ; + QHD 165Hz display ; + Adequate thermals on normal use ; + Rear I/O placement for cleaner desk setups ; + 140W USB-C Power Delivery support
- No keyboard brightness controls ; - Speakers' bass lacks punch ; - 8GB RAM is insufficient for modern games ; - CPU thermal throttling in Performance mode ; - Bloatware causing freezes and annoyances ; - Certain regions of keyboard gets extremely hot...
This particular configuration of the Lenovo LOQ 15 (15APH8) requires better balance - the lack of RAM certainly will drag the whole machine back in terms of performance, especially the Ryzen CPU.

The Lenovo LOQ 15i represents a new dawn for the brand's budget gaming laptop ambitions. Here's our review.
Solid design and build quality ; Bright 1080p 144Hz screen ; Excellent gaming performance ; Fantastic value
Poor battery life ; Average audio ; Colour reproduction could be better
A great affordable gaming laptop, with a better screen and stronger specs than most of the competition at this price point.

You get what you pay for
Solid 1080p gaming performance ; Rugged build quality ; Strong I/O support ; Keeps cool under stress
Mediocre battery life ; Lifeless display ; Poor amount of included storage ; On the pricier end for an RTX 4060 laptop
The Lenovo LOQ 15 Gen 9 looks the part with fantastic build quality considering its cheaper price of entry with strong 1080p performance. However, it's let down by a poor battery life, dull and dim display, as well as a limited amount of storage for...

First there was Legion. Now there's Loq. If you're looking for an affordable gaming laptop the Loq 15 represents great value.
Solid value ; Decent display (when upgraded) ; Good cable management
Basic plasticky build ; Fan tone more noticeable than some Legion series models ; Fairly mediocre speakers
The Lenovo Loq 15 is a sensible and nice-looking gaming laptop that pulls off almost all the right moves at this lower price point. It’s enjoyable to use for work and play, particularly if you plug in a mouse. Performance is solid and the screen has a...

The Lenovo LOQ 15 makes clever sacrifices to keep this an affordable gaming laptop, without making it feel cheap.
Good performance per pound ; Quality keyboard ; Thoughtful design for an affordable gaming laptop
Cooling system is quite loud ; Basic touchpad
This is a quality budget gaming laptop with very few major issues as long as you dig into a few of the available upgrades - most notably the display. One potentially off-putting bit remains. The fans are quite loud and noticeable under strain compared...
