Lenovo ThinkPad E555 Notebook Review

Facelift. Lenovo once again offers a device for private and business users with the latest model of the inexpensive ThinkPad E-series. There are some visual changes compared to the predecessors – but you still get a matte panel and a good keyboard.

Matte display, Fast hard drive with 7200 rpm, Good keyboard, Maintenance cover, Case gets hardly warm

Loud hard drive, Only 12 months warranty

Lenovo’s ThinkPad E555 is a simple office notebook for private and business users. The performance is sufficient for office and web applications. It does not get very warm in operation and could be very quiet – if you replace the loud hard drive....

Lenovo ThinkPad E555 review

A ThinkPad, but without the price tag

Feels more expensive than it really is ; Great keyboard ; Matte finish ; Decent performance ; Very well priced

Relatively heavy for a 15.6-inch model ; Battery life is poor ; Too much bloatware ; Heats up a lot ; The touchpad could have been better

Forget the Essentials range, Lenovo has a winner on its hands with the ThinkPad E555, a laptop which bears all the qualities (well, almost) of the legendary ThinkPad family but without the price tag.

Great Product

The laptop is a little larger than I would have liked, but the large screen can be useful when watching movies.

Extremely happy with this laptop. -Wifi is fast. -Cost was very good. -The discrete video card lets me play video games. -Battery life is good (3hours) and charges fast. -Large bright screen -No additional software to slow the computer. -I requested...

One con - The touch pad sometimes is too sensitive and can get touched while typing.

6 month warranty? Really?

This is not the first time I've posted a review on this product. New Egg really needs to take this third review and display it instead of saying the product hasn't been reviewed. Not really fair to shoppers. The image taken of the registration screen...

Don't know yet, still in shock. Listing shows 1 year warranty, Lenovo computer when setting up shows only 6 month warranty.

If you advertise that you offer a 1 year warranty, you need to give a 1 year warranty. Anything short of that is probably considered fraudulent. We purchased 2 and are trying to return as we purchase for resale. My customers demand I deliver what I...

Replacement of ThinkPad laptop

The new one that replaced the flawed laptop works great. Newegg made every thing with the return and shipping the new one easy. Very few questions asked and the replacement arrived on time and is a great machine.

Arrived on time and when I had to send it back there was no problem with that.

There was some kind of flaw with the laptop as it took about 1/2 hour to load then it was forever to get it going after it finally loaded.

Nice laptop for the price. Completed SSD upgrade which made a lot of difference.

not as fast as I expected but to be honest I will not sell products to my customers without an SSD upgrade. Once the SSD drive had been installed the laptop was massively responsive.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E555

Fitted with another 4GB of DDR3 RAM and it works very well now. You can get hold of some for around £20 and it's very easy to fit for any technophobes (just make sure you're buying compatible RAM). Plenty of examples on YouTube. Since adding it the...

Weight is a bit high, but still easy enough to carry. Battery moderate but hey, for this price you have to compromise somewhere!

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E555

Good quality build for a budget laptop, plus I dont have to bother with Windoze 8.1!

Battery life is poor for a laptop. Installed bloatware maybe ok for a casual user, but I want performance! Dont bother with the installed 'features' switch them out/at least give the option at first set up
