The Lenovo ThinkPad X201 wields the kind of power that you don't see in ultraportables anymore, yet battery life is still impressive.

Spectacular battery life. Powerful Core i5 processor. Best keyboard on an ultraportable. Dual pointing devices. Has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile broadband wireless capability. Multiple hard drive options.

Feature set needs upgrade. Big battery adds to weight.

Tender Evolution? Lenovo delivers the new X201; an updated and up

Very robust case; Good mobility; Very good keyboard; Various upgrades possible; VGA output is good: up to 1280x1024 pixels; Long guarantee; UMTS module; Long battery life; Good program performance; Bright display with a matt surface

Somewhat small touchpad; Long battery life but the battery itself is heavy and large; Constant noise emission; Display has low contrast ratio and colour space; No eSata, USB 3.0, Diplayport or HDMI

Similar hardware and positioning, the HP Elitebook 2540p. Even the Acer Travelmate Timeline X 8371 has business properties such as a matt display and a docking port but it is only available with a Core i3-330UM currently.
