Lenovo Yoga 11e Chromebook review

The Yoga 11e feels like a love letter to touch typists, but it falls too far short in other areas.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook is an interesting alternative to a traditional, expensive business notebook. It nails down most of the basics. The 11e features a rugged design, great keyboard, and a decent display with wide viewing angles.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e

The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e is a tough midrange convertible-hybrid laptop built to withstand the rigors of the school day.

Sturdy build. Responsive touch screen. Wide viewing angles. Comfortable keyboard.

So-so performance. Middling battery life. Relatively low-resolution screen.

Conclusion The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e can't match the performance that you'll get from pricier midrange convertible-hybrid laptops, and it's almost twice the price of the similarly configured, entry-level Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1. However,...

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook

The education-oriented ThinkPad Yoga 11e blends the typical Chromebook with Lenovo's best design, and beefs it up to survive the trials of school life. It's one of the best models we've seen, but it's also one of the most expensive.

Fantastic convertible design. Ruggedized design and solid construction. High-quality In-Plane Switching (IPS) touch display. Best-in-class keyboard.

Much more expensive than competitors. Performance doesn't stand out. USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports are the same color.

Conclusion As it stands, the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook is too expensive to recommend, except for schools that want to make the most of their budget—the combination of rugged durability and compatibility with Chrome's classroom management...

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook review

The first and second generation of Chromebooks we reviewed nearly all followed the same general formula. A flimsy plastic body, small, low-resolution screen, underpowered Intel or ARM CPU, and few if any frills. Paired with Google's Chrome OS,...

The ThinkPad Yoga 11e is the first Chromebook we've tested with hybrid and tablet modes. The rugged body and reinforced glass feel very sturdy, and the keyboard and touchpad are very usable.

The rugged body, meant for students, is especially thick and heavy. Despite a serious price premium over other Chromebooks, there's no real boost to performance or battery life.

The education-aimed Yoga 11e Chromebook bends into several useful hybrid shapes, but it's also too thick and rugged for commuters who want lightweight hardware for their lightweight operating system.

Wide viewing angles; Durable design; Springy keyboard ; Short battery life; Mediocre Performance; Weak audio ; The ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook combines a versatile and sturdy flip design with a comfy keyboard, but we'd like more battery life.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Notebook Review

Quiet and cool. Lenovo's ThinkPad Yoga 11e is designed for schools, which means the device is pretty sturdy. Such a notebook should have long battery runtimes – but the Yoga 11e is only average in this category.

Bright, high-contrast IPS display, Gets hardly warm, Always quiet, Fast 7,200 rpm hard drive, Large maintenance hatch, Good input devices

Average battery runtimes, Only 12 months warranty

Lenovo's ThinkPad Yoga 11e is an 11.6-inch convertible that is primarily designed for schools, which means the construction is correspondingly very sturdy. The Bay Trail Celeron processor is powerful enough for office and web applications. The Yoga 11e...

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook Review: An alternative to low-end PCs

Lenovo's newest ThinkPad for schools is a Chromebook with amazing build quality. This device offers all the bells & whistles of a low-end notebook for school, but is the $479 price tag worth it? Keep reading to find out.

Solid and rugged ; Comfortable keyboard ; Long battery life

Expensive ; Heavy ; Keyboard buggy when flipping modes

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook Review

Lenovo has expanded its Yoga laptop line to include Google's svelte Chrome OS with the nifty ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook. Though Chromebook to the core, the Yoga 11e is very much a ThinkPad, from the iconic dark design to the familiar keyboard, and...

As far as Chromebooks go, the ThinkPad Yoga 11e stands out from the crowd for a couple different reasons: the design and the convertible construction. Unlike some competing models, the Yoga 11e doesn’t look like a toy, and it has the distinct Lenovo...

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook review

Is a flexible, durable Chromebook worth almost 500 bucks?

Rugged design ; Multiple use modes ; Excellent inputs ; Bright, vivid touchscreen

Pricey by comparison ; Chrome OS isn't touch-friendly ; Narrow viewing angles ; 'Meh' battery life

The ThinkPad Yoga 11e sports a rugged and flexible design, an excellent keyboard and booming speakers. If only the thing didn't cost almost 500 smackers at checkout.
