Lenovo Yoga C740 review: par for the course

Exactly what a budget ultrabook should be

Performance is good for everyday purposes ; Sturdy aluminum build ; Good audio ; Affordable price

Annoying bloatware ; Limited port selection ; Screen kicks back glare

A basic bendable that’s tough to beat for the price

Lenovo Yoga C740 (14-Inch) Review

Sleek aluminum styling. ; Affordable. ; Impressive battery life. ; Attractive 1080p touch screen.

No HDMI port or SD card slot. ; Pen not included. ; One keyboard layout quibble and hollow-sounding audio.

Not even Lenovo would call the Yoga C740 the world's greatest 14-inch convertible (it might say that about the Yoga C940), but this economy model has a lot to offer.

Lenovo Yoga C740 2-in-1 review: Speedy, bright, peppy, and reasonably priced

The feature-packed Lenovo Yoga C740 is one of the best values we've seen in a convertible laptop.

Peppy multi-core performance ; Excellent battery life ; Bright Dolby Vision display ; Above-average speakers with Dolby Atmos audio

Physical camera shutter can be tricky to open and close ; Only one USB Type-A port, and no media card reader

Our next benchmark is another CPU-crushing test, but unlike the (typically) hour-long HandBrake benchmark, Cinebench—which involves rendering a 3D image in real time—is generally over in a matter of minutes. So while HandBrake tells us how a given...

Slim, versatile design ; Good battery life ; Solid overall performance ; Integrated security features

Dim display ; Somewhat heavy

The Lenovo Yoga C740 offers solid performance with good battery life in a versatile frame for less than $1,000.

Lenovo Yoga C740-14IML Convertible Review: Top-tier Looks, Mid-tier Price

The Yoga C740 offers a lot on all fronts relative to the sub $1000 asking price. Cut corners have been carefully executed to make the system feel as close as possible to the pricier flagship Lenovo Yoga C940.

USB Type-C charging with DisplayPort support;high quality look and feel for the price;easy-to-upgrade M.2 SSD and WLAN;full performance on battery;webcam shutter;affordable

Turbo Boost sustainability could have been better;no Thunderbolt 3, HDMI, or SD card reader;colors could have been better calibrated;high-pitched fan noise when under load;keyboard keys have weak feedback;average display brightness;slow recharge...

The Yoga C740 has impressive specifications and big claims of a 13-hour battery life. What's more, its 2-in-1 design means it can literally bend over backwards to help you get work done, and it comes with a styl...
