Razer Blade 15 (2018) review

The Razer Blade is the best of both worlds.

Beautiful, thin design ; Excellent gaming performance ; Impressive battery life ; Robust build quality ; High refresh rate display

Questionable keyboard layout ; Runs hot

The Razer Blade is a work-hard, game-hard laptop. In a work setting, it blends in with sleek laptops like MacBook Pro or Surface Book 2. In a gaming setting, it’s every bit as capable as a traditional gaming laptop. You’ll see better battery life out...

Razer Blade Stealth (2018) review

The Blade Stealth is a fine laptop on its own, but a powerhouse with Razer's Core external GPU.

Thin, robust design ; Solid performance ; Responsive keyboard and touchpad ; Razer Core compatibility

Large screen bezels ; Modest specifications without Razer Core

The Razer Blade Stealth does a lot of things right, but without the Razer Core, it feels a bit lost. It’s slightly behind other systems in its price range, and the average laptop buyer won’t be attracted to the Razer brand. It feels designed...

Razer Blade Stealth (2018) review: Near-perfection has its price

The Razer Blade Stealth is a great laptop made even greater in this generation with a quad-core CPU. But compared to similar laptop competitors, there's one thing it still needs.

Lightweight, durable, and attractive ; More than powerful enough for everyday tasks ; Battery life slightly better than last time

Price-to-performance ratio isn't as good as the competition, or even the previous Blade Stealth ; USB-C charging cable feels like it could snap in half ; Battery life still mediocre compared to other ultrabooks

It’s a great machine, though. Peerless, when it comes to the actual design itself. It’s a real pleasure to use the Blade Stealth, be it on a plane or just at home lounging on the couch. Durable enough to feel rugged and portable, but lightweight enough...

Razer Blade (2018)

The 2018 Razer Blade redefines the category it inspired: the super-slim, powerful gaming laptop. The best thin design in the business now packs a roomier 15.6-inch display and cutting-edge components.

Best-in-class overall performance. Slick, thin design, now with a larger (15.6-inch) screen. Superior high-refresh display. Per-key RGB backlighting. Solid battery life.

A bit pricey for the parts. Design of speaker grilles mars sleek build.

Bottom Line: The 2018 Razer Blade redefines the category it inspired: the super-slim, powerful gaming laptop. The best thin design in the business now packs a roomier 15.6-inch display and cutting-edge components.

Razer Blade review: Riding the knife edge between gaming and work

The newly upgraded Razer Blade is the perfect laptop for undercover gaming.

Great overall redesign, with a larger screen, smaller bezels and bigger touchpad. Includes either an Nvidia 1060 or 1070 GPU, which is enough for almost any laptop gamer. 144Hz display option. Cool keyboard lights, if that's your bag.

Painfully expensive considering Nvidia 1060 laptops can be found for under $1,000. The 4K touchscreen option isn't available yet.

The redesigned Razer Blade moves the bar on slim gaming laptops, with better hardware and a bigger screen, but you'll need a bigger budget for it, too.

Razer Blade Stealth (13.3

The refreshed Razer Blade Stealth is mostly the same as the previous model of this ultraportable laptop that we love, but now delivers a fresher, faster processor for $100 more.

Gorgeous 13.3-inch QHD+ touch display. Speedy new Core i7 processor. Slick design and solid construction. USB-C with Thunderbolt 3. Customizable LED keyboard. Runs quietly.

Battery life not as long as some competitors'. Can't charge and use USB-C port at the same time.

Bottom Line: The refreshed Razer Blade Stealth is mostly the same as the previous model of this ultraportable laptop that we love, but now delivers a fresher, faster processor for $100 more.

Razer Blade Stealth (Late 2017)

The gorgeous, well-built, all-metal Razer Blade Stealth, now with a slightly larger and still-brilliant screen, is one of the best premium ultraportable laptops, especially for less than $1,500.

Razer's slim Blade Stealth laptop grows up

With a bigger screen and a new, subdued look, the Razer Blade Stealth is more mainstream, but slightly less fun.

The Razer Blade Stealth gets a larger screen in the same slim body. The new design feels more sophisticated and less gamer-y. Dropping the resolution from 4K means better battery life. Well priced for a premium Core i7 laptop.

The keyboard loses its fun multicolored backlight, going white-only. Accessing many system options requires signing up for a Razer account with your email. Limited configuration options.

The redesigned Razer Blade Stealth has a more serious, sophisticated look and better battery life, but also loses its singular hook, a million-color lighting system.

New Razer Blade Stealth (Intel Core i5, Early 2017)

Though it still offers speed, long battery life, a sleek and sturdy metal build, and a full feature set, the New Razer Blade Stealth is now even more affordable thanks to an Intel Core i5 processor.

Speedy performance stacks up well to more expensive machines. Long battery life. Attractive and sturdy metal construction. Customizable individually backlit keys. Includes both USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.0 ports.

Somewhat light on storage. Keys have slightly shallow travel.

The Core i5 Blade Stealth's specs may not be out of the ordinary, but it's rare to get them in such a high-quality compact build for this price. It's a very appealing value given that it stacks up to more expensive machines pretty nicely, and you don't...
