Samsung Notebook 9 Pro is what happens when you design by questionnaire

The redesigned premium 13.3-inch two-in-one is a bit uninspired, but its battery life and performance don't disappoint.

The 2019 Samsung Notebook 9 Pro is a slim, lightweight two-in-one with extra-long battery life and strong performance for its size. Samsung includes a good active pen as well as a few software extras that add to the overall package.

The updated design doesn't improve use. There's no place to store its pen and it requires an AAAA-size battery. The fingerprint reader placement makes it slightly awkward to use.

Samsung's redesigned Notebook 9 Pro hits all the things you'd expect from a premium ultraportable two-in-one in 2019. Just don't buy into the design hype.

Samsung Notebook 9 Pro review: boring is better than bad

Samsung's latest laptop fixes many of the issues of older models, but does it with zero flair

Solid build quality ; Fast, quiet performance ; Sharp, bright display

Shallow keyboard ; Frustrating function row layout ; Inconsistent fingerprint scanner

Design by focus group might not be how the absolute best products are produced, but for Samsung, it seems to have resulted in a better laptop than the company could manage on its own.

Samsung Notebook 9 Pro (2019) review: Good value and sleek looks, but performance suffers

Samsung's Notebook 9 Pro is lightweight, with solid battery life. Performance is a mixed bag, however, as it is for many convertibles.

Good value for money ; Decent battery life; battery plus mode adds even more ; Excellent performance in office applications

Performance is poor in CPU-intensive apps ; Shallow keyboard is uncomfortable

We evaluate each notebook using a mix of real-world tests and synthetic benchmarks. We noticed an enormous discrepancy between the older PCMark tests, which tax the CPU intermittently, and the more CPU-intensive stress tests, which we detail a bit...

Premium design; Decent performance; Solid battery life; Competitively priced ; Display could be brighter; Meh speakers ; The Samsung Notebook 9 Pro (13-inch, 2019) offers good performance and solid battery life in an aluminum design for a good price.

Hands on: Samsung Notebook 9 Pro (2019) review

The notebook made for professionals

Equipped with the latest Intel Whisky Lake CPU ; Chrome edges and an overall stand out design ; Thinned out screen bezels

No place to carry the new Active Pen ; Thick bottom bezel

The Notebook 9 Pro might be Samsung’s best looking and performing Ultrabook ever. Thanks to its stand out design, it makes a great first impression and it has the specs to duke it out with the best laptops on the market.
