Review Samsung X420 Subnotebook

Sparkly When you hold the Samsung X420 up to the light, you can see the glitter of metallic particles embedded in the casing. It also promises good performance and portability with its dual-core processor and large battery. Will the subnotebook turn...

Good workmanship, Well designed, Good touchpad, Adequate processor performance for applications, Excellent battery life, The sparkly metallic particles

Ports poorly positioned for left-handers, Wobbly and imprecise keyboard, Mediocre screen

Samsung X420 Notebook - HardwareZone.com

Samsung bumped up their X-series of ultra portable notebooks with a new addition recently. Do stick around if you'd like to find out about the 14-inch X420 and why we think it's a winner. We aren't making any references to Coldplay by the way.

Sleek yet robust design; Extensive battery life; HDMI Port

Odd touchpad keys placement

Go back a few years, and finding an ultraportable for £496 exc VAT would have caused a stampede. Now, however, with CULV-equipped laptops popping up all over the place, there's a huge amount of competition, and Samsung's X420 just isn't worthy of your...

relatively light weight (although the one you see in the shop is minus the battery pack - which makes all the difference). Good battery life though. Like having an external DVD drive supplied with it, as I don't usually carry that around.

Samsung X420

For those who think a netbook is too small and a laptop too big, this is a good compromise. Big enough to work on documents and small enough to be portable. Good battery life. Easy to use.
