Sony VAIO Flip 15 review: Sony's new convertible is cheaper, bigger than most

More InfoSony teases flexible VAIO PCSony announces VAIO Flip PCSony VAIO Tap 11 reviewWhen Sony first teased the VAIO Flip series, we were

Attractive ; Innovative design ; Mostly reliable trackpad ; Bright IPS display, optional 2,880 x 1,620 resolution

Big and heavy for a convertible ; Disappointing battery life ; Can get loud ; Some performance bugs (fixes coming)

The Flip series has an innovative design, but the 15-inch version doesn't make much sense unless you need the discrete graphics or the 2,880 x 1,620 screen.

Sony Vaio Flip 15 review

At this point in PC history, it's almost more surprising to see a new high-profile laptop without some sort of bendy, twist hybrid design than one with it. That's why you won't be shocked to see that Sony's new flagship midsize Vaio is more than simply...

The slim, powerful Sony Vaio Flip 15 is a sharp-looking 15-inch hybrid that works great in its laptop mode, and has some very high-end options.

The tablet mode doesn't lie completely flat, battery life should be better, and the screen is especially glossy.

Sony's unique attempt at a big-screen hybrid looks great and is reasonably priced, but it works better as a laptop than a tablet.

Dont get seduced to buy it because of its flipping screen.

1. You feel the hell by its unresponsive touch pad. It works properly only in the very start of use and then takes you to ultimate madness of: click, double click, and nothing works and then you press the pad harder and harder ...

Sexy flip over screen seduces you to buy it. Also it has a fair design.

Aweful touchpad. Damaged case and hardware.

Would not buy one again. not good enough to be a tablet or a laptop

Had nothing but issues with the back cover of the lap top popping off everytime you move the screen. touch screen is not sensitive enough to be a tablet.

Multimedia center - The best of both worlds

The best laptop available now. When I use it on meetings, always hear some wows. The tablet (touchscreen and flip) capacities are nice, specially if you like to see movies there. The playback is very smooth.

Sharp 2880x1620 screen, the touchscreen and flip feels right

No optical drive.

"The best high end professional digitizer Tablet+Laptop thus far"

After years of waiting for a true Engineering desktop replacement laptop that supported a digitizer, the Sony Flip 15 comes along. And then it's gone! I had to purchase my refurbished unit from a liquidator, though I am hard pressed to find any defects...

Sharp 2880x1620 screen, 16GB RAM and easy user upgradability

This is a great 2 in 1 system

This is a great laptop that can be used like a tablet. I use this as a work system and it is great. During meetings I use the Note Anytime with the active pen...so you are not just tied to what you can type...you can also draw illustrations your notes....

Screen Size, Sturdy design, In pad mode keys are not resting on my lap, good battery with no 3D applications active

fan during 3D applications
