Sony Vaio Pro 13 review

Sony's Vaio Pro 13 is extremely light and offers all-day battery life, but it doesn't offer the feeling of luxury that its price tag implies.

The Sony Vaio Pro 13 is emblematic of Sony’s new approach to product design. By using technologies from multiple divisions, and focusing on technical excellence, the company has crafted an Ultrabook that’s extremely thin and light, yet also offers...

Sony VAIO Pro 13 review: This audacious Ultrabook is guaranteed to get you noticed

Sony's freakishly thin notebook is good for everything but games.

Supremely thin and light ; Exquisite carbon-fiber design ; 128GB SSD

Single-band 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter (2.4GHz) ; Enough real estate for only two USB ports ; Flat keys

The VAIO Pro 13 trades some performance for looks; but this Ultrabook is so beautiful, you won’t care.

Sony VAIO Pro 13

The Sony VAIO Pro 13 shows that you can make laptops lighter and thinner when you use a fourth-generation Intel Core processor.

Very light and thin. Speedy performance from SSD. Bright and clear Full HD resolution IPS 10-point touch screen. Full size HDMI. NFC support.

Could use more SSD storage. Some keyboard flex. Insistent fan. Back edge of lid can dig into your legs. Very good, but not great, battery life.

The Sony VAIO Pro 13 runs neck and neck with some other very good to excellent ultrabooks, and that's the problem. It needed to be much, much better than rivals to pull ahead of the pack. The anticipation of fourth-generation Intel Core promised that...

Sony Vaio Pro 13 Touch review

Not everyone wants to buy an Apple laptop, but serious Windows 8 competitors to the MacBook Air have been few and far between.

The Sony Vaio Pro 13 weighs less than 2.4 pounds and uses a fourth-gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processor to deliver long battery life and very good everyday performance. It has an excellent 13.3-inch 1080p touch screen and is competitively priced for its...

The Pro 13, like its competition, has a nonremovable battery (though you can add an external battery), few ports and connections, and integrated graphics only. Memory maxes out at 8GB.

For those who want an excellent ultraportable laptop with more than just the latest Intel processors, the Sony Vaio Pro 13 Touch is it.

Sony VAIO Pro review: 'we're going to war with the MacBook Air'

My go-to laptop buying advice has been the same for the last two years, at least for anyone who doesn't know their PRAM from their Linux kernel. Oh, you're looking for a new laptop? Buy a MacBook...

Extremely thin and light ; Great display ; Fantastic battery life

Body gives and flexes too much ; Trackpad and Wi-Fi can be finicky

The closest thing Windows has to a true MacBook Air competitor

Sony Vaio Pro 13

I dare say Sony's Vaio Pro 13 is everything you could want in an ultrabook. Until the MacBook Air gets a much-needed screen upgrade, this svelte number from Sony is arguably the best ultralight money can buy.

Record-setting boot time. Fast, bug-free operation. Epic battery life. Incredibly thin and light

Screen is a bit wobbly, a problem when using touch. A bit noisy. Way too much Sonyware pre-installed (which, among other things, breaks Windows system recovery)

Sony VAIO Pro 13: Exceptionally Portable

As our first non-Apple Haswell Ultrabook, the Sony VAIO Pro 13 has a high bar to clear. We've seen a few Haswell systems that have delivered on the promise of improved battery life, and in some cases we've even seen improved performance. The...

What makes for a good laptop is going to be a somewhat subjective discussion. Some users want high performance, others want the ability to play games, and some want excellent mobility – meaning, good battery life and low weight. The Sony VAIO Pro 13...

Review Sony Vaio Pro 13 SVP-1321C5ER Ultrabook

Red Baron. After the Pro 11 we have a closer look at the 13-inch Red Edition. How much polish can an elitist business notebook handle? How much performance can the just 10 mm thin base unit keep cool? Our review gives the answers.

Bright Full HD IPS display with high contrast, Color accuracy, Backlit keyboard, Very low weight, Battery runtimes, Normal sized HDMI port, Fast SSD, Accessories and TPM, Battery slice port, The bright IPS display with its high color accuracy. The good...

Average stability of the base unit, Wobbly display hinges, Greasy glossy finish, Flexible keyboard, Low quality webcam, Reduced CPU/GPU performance, A docking port to improve the handling on the desk and perhaps with additional cooling. Uncomfortable...

Sony Vaio Pro 13 review – great Haswell business ultrabook

The Sony Vaio Pro 13 is an awesome ultrabook, with an angular design and a 2.4 lbs light body. Powered by an Intel Haswell platform, sporting a touchscreen and a very good keyboard, the Pro 13 is definitely something to look at these days. If only it...

looks awesome and unique, weigh only 2.4 pounds, sports a very good touchcreen and a comfortable keyboard; snappy everyday performances; long battery life; loud and clear sound system

too flexible, pointy corners, annoying glass on top of the screen, not the best trackpad, can get noisy when pushed, wi-fi problems

All in all, the Vaio Pro 13 is an excellent device. Yes, it feels a bit fragile, but I don’t think the flexible chassis will have negative effects on the long term if you treat it right. Of course, there are things I’d wish Sony would have done better,...

Sony Vaio Pro 13 Review

There's no denial that Vaio Pro is Sony's best ultrabook yet with its sexy design, very light weight and great performance. However, that comes with a hefty price as well.
