Sony Vaio E series SVE1511K1E laptop review

 

The Vaio SVE1511K1E has a reasonable specification of a second-generation Intel Core i3 processor and 4GB of RAM, a 750GB hard drive and a good quality 15.5 inch screen.

The Sony Vaio SVE1511K1E feels slightly clunky and we aren’t fans of the buttonless trackpad. The gesture control is something of a gimmick, too. Nonetheless this laptop is a decent performer - gaming aside - with a great screen for watching video and...

not much

Tried upgrading to Windows 8 and now I keep receiving 'mfc110u.dll missing' message. I've checked online and apparently its a Windows 8 issue specific to Sony laptops and Sony are not interested Plus the mouse pad keeps locking up...arghhhhh

Speed of start up & operation. Restarts very quickly from sleep mode. Backlit keyboard. Price.

Windows 8!!! Power adapter cable length (slightly short). Touch pad very sensitive.

Very pleased with my first laptop , my old computer was a Compaq XP which was a reliable old machine. Vaio care is excellent for helping to explain things to a non computer expert. Learning new things all the time with windows 8

mouse pad sticks sometime , but have only had it a couple of weeks and will take it in to get checked if this persists

Appearance is good and the white model I have is very clear with black symbols on the white keys. The screen is big, clear and colourful and ideal for my photographic needs and for general correspondence, accounts etc. I can now perform all of my tasks...

Keys sometimes slow to respond but I am not an expert and am still getting used to the machine and the wealth of contents as yet untapped. My son used it recently and claims it is slower than his brand new Toshiba.
