Review: Sony Vaio T Series SVT13112FXS

Sony's Vaio T Series is more restrained than the company's other notebooks, offering a slimmed-down computing experience complete with third-generation Core i5 CPU for just...

Generally good keyboard and clickpad. Slightly above-average performance. Good battery life. Upgrade to Windows 8 (when it comes out in October) for

Needs more USB ports. As usual, bundled Sony software overwhelms even simple tasks. Washed out color on dim LCD

Sony VAIO T Series (SVT13116FGS) Ultrabook

Sony VAIO T Series review: a third gen Core i7 Ultrabook with plenty of style and a few shortcomings

Core i7 CPU ; Fast SSD ; Battery life ; Good style

Glossy screen ; Fairly noisy ; USB ports only on one side ; Keys feel too shallow

Good looks, fast performance and long battery life are the standout features of the Sony VAIO T Series (SVT13116FGS). However, it's an Ultrabook that could use a bit of refining: we'd like a better keyboard, dual-band Wi-Fi, a matte screen and a USB...

Sony Vaio T Series Ultra-book

Sony has joined the mid-segment ultra-book league with its latest T Series ultrabook Vaio SVT11113FGS priced at Rs 49k and powered by Intel's 3rd gen processor.

A good performer but loses out on features to the Samsung Series 5 ultrabook.

Great Laptop

Loving it. I'm a Mac user with all of the Apple hardware so I thought I would look at slowly changing to other OS systems. This laptop has impressed me. I'm still learning Windows 8 but I'm really liking this laptop. In fact, I've not picked up my iPad...

Touchscreen, size is perfect for my use, screen is very clear, Windows 8

No backlighting on the keyboard

Nice W8 touch screen, but noise CPU fan

I have used other Sony laptop, and various other laptop, MAC, DELL, LENOVO. non of them get this loud.

Very nice, fast and shiny ultrabook with Win8. is not even warm yet

After ~2 weeks use, the fan noise gets fairly loud, definitely when you are using it in the quiet room, and it is becoming annoying. Still need to contact Newegg or Sony support if there is a away to lower the fan speed, the CPU case

not recommended for Skype users

compact and light weight ; operate 4+ hours on battery ; low heat and low noise ; touch screen

the microphone is placed close to speaker - this creates a feedback sound loop problem when use Skype or other chat system ; No microphone input ; The metal cover at the back of the LCD conducts electricity when plug in to the power adapter

Touch is good

For a touch enabled ultra book, with a 3rd gen core i3 processor, this is a great value. Windows 8 runs great on it and its a pleasure to use.

This laptop is great in terms of bang for your buck. The Touch experience is great and that is the way Windows 8 should be experienced ; Nice touch screen ; Windows 8 works great ; good performance ; great value ; nice, thin, lightweight form factor

mouse touchpad tries to do too many things with gestures, i.e. pinch to zoom, scrolling, swipe in from the sides - I would argue that this leads to confusion since this is a touch screen device. Its easy to turn these "extra" commands off by going into...

Tiny but packed with power

This Ultrabook is a pretty impressive machine. It replaced a Thinkpad T61 that had served me well for 4 years. The Sony is light but still packs a punch in terms of speed and storage. It took little time to adjust to a smaller keyboard and to Windows...
