We rather liked the last vast Sony Vaio laptop that we reviewed, the 18.4-inch VGN-AW31M/H , but its specification fell rather short for the price. Now there's a new monster model to up the ante, the cheaper and more balanced, 18.4-inch Sony Vaio...

Excellent performance; solid specification; stylish design.

Screen is rather lacklustre; some keyboard flex.

The Vaio VGN-AW41MF/H is a luscious behemoth with plenty of muscle, and comes at a more reasonable price than some similar Sony machines. We'd heap more praise on it if its screen were crisper, but that doesn't detract too much from a highly capable...

Large screen is very clear, battery life is good, it lasts twice as long as my old IBM Thinkpad. It's good that it has 2.4 Ghz & 5Ghz wifi, the 5Ghz is cetainly better but as all the other device's in my home are 2.4 i rarely get to use the 5Ghz. Full...

Found that it overhearts and cuts out after a few hours use had to purchase a Cooler Master U3 (19") cooling pad to cope with this size of laptop. Have also upgraded the memory to 8gb but to be honest i haven't noticed any improvement in the performance.

Excellent laptop giving fantastic performance. Great screen size and keyboard. Comes with great trial products such as computer security etc

Only slight downside is the weight, which is a little heavy when being carried, but this is to be expected with the screen size and what the product can do, after all the screen size is bigger than some desk top monitors, and I have another smaller...

Clear and large screen that can be viewed from a wide angle. The keyboard is nice to type on.

The wireless card has problems with a BT home hub and can be intermittent. This can be very frustrating when it doesnt work.
