Sony Vaio C Series (15.5-inch) Review

Anyone looking for a stylish design, well-rounded performance, or a 1080p display will be attracted to the Sony Vaio C Series, but those who want portability and comfortable use under load will be repelled.

Sony has once again proved that Windows is not synonymous with boring. This laptop is visually appealing and, better yet, it doesn’t require that buyers sacrifice their left arm for the sake of looks. While the signature collection is extra, there are...

Sony Vaio SA41FX/BL review: Sony Vaio SA41FX/BL

Sony Vaio SA41FX/BL

The ; has a compact size and plenty of upgrades: dedicated AMD graphics, optional Blu-ray, a fingerprint reader, HD Webcam, and higher-def 1,600x900-pixel display.

Unless you buy the sheet battery, battery life falls below that on equivalent alternatives; also, the entry price is high.

The 13-inch Sony Vaio SA41FX/BL has plenty of features and optional bells and whistles for a compact laptop, but it falls a bit short on battery life and price to be a must-have product.

Sony Vaio VPC-YB35KX/B review: Sony Vaio VPC-YB35KX/B

Sony Vaio VPC-YB35KX/B

The ; has a lot of hard-drive space, solid performance from an AMD E-450 processor, and long battery life; this 11-incher has the portability of a Netbook, and it's reasonably affordable.

The cramped keyboard and touch pad make this Vaio feel more like a Netbook from 2010 than an ultrabook from 2011, and it lacks USB 3.0.

The more affordable and better-performing Sony Vaio YB35KX/B is a modest improvement on the last YB model we reviewed, adding up to a full-featured but cramped 11-inch laptop that'll cost a lot less than an ultrabook.

Piece of Trash

None

Screen cracked under normal usage (The unit underwent NO physical damage) after 5 months. Now I have to send it back to Sony to see if they will cover it under warranty. My guess is they will not. This is the last Sony product I will ever buy. The...

My First VAIO and Lovin It!

I was a long time ThinkPad User especially with a Contracting Business. But I find myself very fond of my New Vaio, it actually generates excitement when I turn it on. I know that sounds strange but when you find a laptop that is as pleasing to the...

Great Laptop

If you can find this for less than $1000, I would purchase it immediately. You will not regret it

I bought this laptop when it was on sale for $850 on Newegg, which seemed like a steal, and it was. This laptop is great. The screen is excellent and video looks amazing. The battery life is very good. Everything works quickly and smoothly, with only a...

The trackpad sucks, but I don't like trackpads on laptops in general. Also, the price is now about $1100. Only 4GB of RAM, but I installed an additional 4GB for only $20 more

Perfect balance of power and portability!

If you want to upgrade the DVD drive, make sure to go for the extra slim internal drives. A normal sized laptop drive will not fit, as I found out. I got this baby for writing and some development work and it's definitely been a champ. The resolution...

EXCELLENT battery life, 5-7 hours on Stamina mode! Incredibly light at just over 3.5 pounds. The 1600x900 resolution is perfect for the 13" screen. The hinge is rock solid. The performance of a quad core that sips battery! And it's relatively easy to...

You have to use some of Sony's bloatware if you want the max battery life this machine can achieve. Also, Sony has a history of being terrible with keeping their drivers updated ; The screen definitely has a narrow optimal viewing angle. And the vents...

Great Bang for your Buck

Great Performance. Good gaming laptop without the gaming price. Currently playing Diablo 3 without any issues. Game runs just fine on high graphics. Like the other poster I dropped another 4 gigs of Ram in for $20. The 7200 RPM HD is a plus. I was able...

Normal amount of bloatware installed on, but can be removed
