Sony Micro PC Vaio VGN-UX1XN

Sony produces the coolest UMPC yet, but does cool equal good?

It’s also equipped with a USB port, a Memory Stick Pro/Duo slot, wireless networking, a Bluetooth adapter, a fingerprint reader, plus two cameras - three megapixels at the rear for taking stills and 0.3 megapixels at the front for webcam use. You get a...

A pocket rocket with a sky-high price tag

A genuine handheld PC ; Enough poke for most

Surprisingly great mini keyboard ; That pesky second mortgage

We want it, but the pricepoint is so prohibitive, it's bordering on embarassing

Sony Vaio VGN-UX1XN UMPC

Sony has never been a company to shy away from innovation and its computer division is no exception. So it was only a matter of time before they released a machine that put the current crop of UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) machines to shame. For starters, it...

Small, Vista-installed

Awkward to use, low battery life

Sony - Vaio VGN-UX1XN

Sony's Vaio VGN-UX1XN is in many ways a remarkable machine. Weighing less than half a kilo and measuring 100.5mm high, 150.2mm wide and 38.2mm deep, it is amazing that the computer can pack in a keyboard, ...

The Vaio VGN-UX1XN shows what can be achieved when you bring clever design and oodles of features together in a small package. Still, we think it proves that real computers can be too small for their own good.

The Sony UX1XN is quite possibly one of the smallest laptops ever.

Sony Vaio VGN-UX1XN

Vista capable, gadgets, slide on off. Unstable operating/power save system.

text (at high resolution necessary for vista) too small to read most of the time. Keyboard slow to use. Needs specialist software to work properly with such a small screen (a la psion)
