Let's get right to it. If you're considering purchasing the 27-inch Apple LED Cinema Display, know that you'll need a Mac with a Mini DisplayPort connection in order to use it. If you only own a PC or older Mac, you're out of luck.
The Apple LED Cinema Display's high resolution and screen coating gives it not only great performance in movies and games, but also in everyday tasks. The monitor works seamlessly when connected to a recent model MacBook, and provides a charging...
Thanks to Apple's decision to only include a Mini DisplayPort connection, the LED Cinema Display can only be used with Macs from late 2008 and on. Also, the display lacks ergonomic features and more-granular customization options. Some users will not...
As a desktop display and USB extender, the 27-inch Apple LED Cinema Display works wonderfully; however, for $1,000, there are better monitors that offer more options, including PC and Mac compatibility.

If you're a MacBook Pro owner, then here's another reason to smile. Apple has designed the beautiful LED Cinema Display especially for you, complete with...
Handsome 24-inch auxiliary screen designedspecifically as a companion to the MacBook Pro. A single cable letsyou power and charge your laptop while also connecting it to thedisplay’s three-port USB hub. Arsenic-free screen backlit withmercury-free...
No external controls: Brightness, volume, and power must all be regulated via connected Mac. Doesn’t play nicewith PCs

The market for the 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display is limited. Until third-party adapters are released, the display is only compatible with MacBooks that have Mini DisplayPort connections. And even if you have that, you will pay $900 for a display...
Incredible performance in DisplayMate tests; games and movies look great; clean design; good viewing angle; built-in camera and mic; phenomenal sound from built-in speaker.
Complete lack of connection options that would allow you to connect to a PC or older Mac; dearth of ergonomic features.
While performance is excellent, the Apple LED Cinema Display's one connection option paints it into a small corner that is welcoming only to newer MacBook owners.

Apple's new LED Cinema Display is the company's first display designed specifically for use with its laptop line.
Excellent viewing angle ; Single three-headed cable provides power, USB 2.0 connectivity and signal
Settings not easily customizable ; No swivel, pivot, or height adjustment ; Works only with Apple's latest laptops
The LED Cinema Display represents many firsts for Apple: the company's first LED backlit stand-alone display, the first external display designed specifically for Apple laptops, and the first Apple monitor to sport the company's proprietary Mini...

Good performance ; Provides a huge amount of desktop space
Lacks external video connectors ; Requires graphics-card upgrade and a Power Mac G5

Stunning image quality will nevertheless leave Windows users wishing for better controls.
With crisp text and gorgeous color, this is a great display. But it doesn't make the crossover from Apple to Windows well.

Great viewing angle
Not very flexible

WHAT'S HOT: A 22-inch wide-screen LCD with great image quality and a sexy clear frame--what's not to like? There were a few things we'll mention later, but for the most part, Apple's Cinema Display dazzled us. It produced clean text and beautiful...
Documentation is extremely scant--consisting mainly of a cartoonish setup card and a description of Apple's skimpy warranty: one year for labor and only 90 days for parts. We'd like to see full three-year coverage for such a sizeable investment
