For Mac-centric content creators, the Studio Display is a stunning, plug-and-go 5K companion for a late-model Mac (especially the 2022 Mac Studio), but the pricing for the panel and its options is hard to swallow.

The Apple Studio Display is a 27 inch monitor with a 5k resolution. It's targeted for the consumer level as Apple previously released Pro Display XDR for profess...
Excellent peak brightness and fantastic reflection handling. Wide viewing angles. Exceptional out-of-the-box accuracy. High 5k resolution delivers sharp text and images. Low input lag.
60Hz panel. Limited compatibility with Windows PCs. No HDR support. Low contrast and no local dimming. Can't remove stand to wall-mount it. Poor motion handling. No VRR support. Limited ergonomics on tilt-only version.
The Apple Studio Display is okay for mixed usage. It performs best for content creation and for office use, and you can use all of its features with a macOS device. It has exceptional out-of-the-box accuracy, and the high resolution makes it a very...

The Asus ZenScreen Smart Monitor can go from a TV to a gaming system to a work display in a matter of seconds.
Smart monitors are a relatively new product category, and if you're a big fan of streaming services and like a brand-forward content delivery system, you should check out Asus' ZenScreen Smart Monitor . Especially if you're a fan of Google TV and have...

Apple's new Studio Display will be perfect for many, but hopeless for others, and it has a surprising shortcoming.
Great picture quality and amazing sound from the speakers. Very accomplished quality. Works seamlessly with newer Macs.
Expensive. Lacks HDR and 120 Hz ProMotion, and FaceTime camera image quality is below par. No HDMI.
Apple’s Studio Display is the natural partner for a Mac Studio. But I also used it with an older MacBook and a newer 24-inch iMac M1, and both worked flawlessly with the display. Which is a notch or two more solid and more well-made than most...

Apple's Studio Display is a great companion to Macs and iPads thanks to its excellent camera, fantastic speaker setup and gorgeous 27-inch 5K screen. For non-Apple devices, it's an overly expensive 5K secondary display.
But if you're a Mac user, this Display is made for you. I think it's well worth the $1,499 asking price, though I dearly wish Apple wouldn't charge $400 extra for the convenience of being able to adjust it up or down a few inches.

The Apple Studio Display is a fantastic companion to the Mac Studio, and much more besides
Competitive price point ; Much improved multimedia capabilities ; Built-in reference modes for media ; Non-reflective nano-texture glass option
Fixed height with the default stand ; Camera falls a little short of competition ; Cleaning nano-texture coating a challenge
In the new 27” 5k Studio Display, Apple has delivered not just an impressive partner to its latest M1 Mac line-up, but also a worthy replacement for their previous Cinema Display. While not quite as feature rich as the flagship 6k Pro Display XDR, the...

Apple products are polarizing, but it's been some time since a product from the company has generated as much of a split opinion inside the community as the new Studio Display has.

The Studio Display is Apple's 27-inch monitor aimed at creatives, but is it worth buying?
Nice design ; Can charge your devices ; Good image quality
Need to spend extra for height adjustment ; No HDR ; Limited to 60Hz ; Webcam issues
The Studio Display is an interesting screen for creatives, and its image quality is decent, but it doesn’t live up to its potential. Lack of HDR, limited ports and an underwhelming webcam means the asking price will be too high for many. The extra...

It will make many Mac owners very happy, even if it's missing some frills.
One of the few 5K monitors you can buy from any company for any price
3-foot Thunderbolt cable in the box enables full 40Gbps transfer speeds but is short enough to be limiting

The company's first mainstream monitor in more than a decade is a beauty to behold and packs in unrivaled sound quality.
