Great product, should be standard with all PC's. But, there is a long way to go in the driver support to let that be as convenient as it could.
- Very heavy so it stays in place; a friend commented that it was essentially the same weight as the notebook computer it was plugged into. - Smooth action - Works wired via a standard USB mini cable, or wirelessly
- Software for this model nowhere near as full-featured as that for the pro version. - Largely dependent on per-application support, with detailed customization beyond the simple GUI requiring hand-edited XML files (as of 5/2016) - Disturbingly high...

It is heavy enough and is pretty grippy on the bottom. But it can be slid around a little. When you pull up on the knob it takes a while to get used how lightly yet deliberate it needs to be done as to not pick it up off the desk. I would like to see...
This thing is heavy and solid. I like it! No problems with the software or drivers, work flawless so far. I had been planning to buy the usb version cause it is a good amount cheaper but I decided to spring for the wireless, glad I did, and it can be...
no real cons, but do have some more thoughts below.

Heavy ( Stable ) , very well built , sleep design , and a piece of technology on Your desk . if you are rich you can get the higher end ones . but this one will completely satisfy any user . two buttons are extremely enough , Battery crazy good .
Well , really nothing , unless if you want to be very very picky . i would love if the LEDs keep on during the use in wireless , for saving power the lights turn off , i would keep them on if i have choice .

If you are working with 2d/3d software (such as Inventor, AutoCad, Maya, 3DS Max, Navisworks, et cetera) then this will make your life a bit easier and better. This is not used like a normal mouse by the way; If you're just looking for a cool "mouse"...
Great for 2d/3d drafting/modeling and game development; offers loads of programmable buttons. I absolutely love this thing
A bit pricey and I personally feel that the LCD screen is a bit overkill. Occasionally reeks havok with a couple of my pc games, but that's easy to rectify

It takes a while to get used to it, but I like it. The blue LEDs around the control cap can be turned off in the software if they bother you, all in all its a good buy if you do 3D modeling for a living.
It makes navigating a 3D environment very easy. I use SolidWorks Professional 2009 with FloWorks and a little Blender on the side. Being able to fly around while you select multiple edges or parts is great. the buttons are easy to customize on the fly...
The LCD screen responds very slowly. when you move to the next set of button presets the screen takes about 3 seconds to reflect the change, not a really big deal because you end up memorizing the buttons pretty quickly and only need the screen for a...

Awesome Mobility. Smooth Workflow
Need to get use to a workflow. Very Difficult for long time 3D Artists to get use to

This thing was built to last. I have used it day in and day out for 6months and there have been no signs of wear. Not to mention 3dconnexion is a branch off of logitech, which means you know you are getting a quality product
This is by far the best $400 you can spend if you are in the cad industry. I use this at work and it has cut down the time it takes to model a file or put together an assembly in half. You no longer have to fumble with pan, zoom, and rotate buttons,...
I tend to use the escape button on the device alot, in solid edge this can sometimes make your assembly, or part go invisible. To make it re-appear all you have to do is move the "puck" on the SpacePilot, not really a big deal
