Mad Catz RAT Pro X review

The RAT Pro X earns its acronym, Really Awesome Tech.

Once you finish setting it up, the RAT Pro X plays like any other lightweight gaming mouse. Instead of a crazy high dpi sensor like the Diamondback, or a wealth of button options like the Nyth, the RAT Pro X relies on the fact that once you spend a few...

Mad Catz R.A.T. 8+

With a unique look and parts you can swap out for comfort, the Mad Catz R.A.T. 8+ is a high-end gaming mouse that should tickle tinkerers, as well as players seeking lots of buttons and flexibility.

Adjustable parts provide unique customization options. Good feel for a variety of hands. Unique, partly open-shell look.

Expensive for a wired mouse. Adjustable features introduce small parts that are easy to misplace. Configuration software feels a bit lightweight.

Bottom Line: With a unique look and parts you can swap out for comfort, the Mad Catz R.A.T. 8+ is a high-end gaming mouse that should tickle tinkerers, as well as players seeking lots of buttons and flexibility.

Mad Catz R.A.T. 8+ review: Back from the dead

Mad Catz and its famed R.A.T. mouse return from the ravages of bankruptcy. Is the new R.A.T. worthy of the name, or just a pretender? We went hands-on to find out.

Eminently customizable ; Uses a reliable PMW3389 sensor ; Feels durable

Customization options aren't always intuitive ; Heavy, even with the weights removed ; Hard to know whether Mad Catz peripherals are more reliable nowadays

Overall, it’s a great return to market for Mad Catz, or at least the Mad Catz brand. The mouse isn’t without faults. It’s still a RAT, and bound to be as divisive as ever when it comes to appearance. Dust is a constant struggle as well, since it gets...

Mad Catz R.A.T. Pro X Review — Winning the Rat Race

The R.A.T. Pro X wants to be a premium mouse for a hardcore audience, and in that, it succeeds on almost all counts. Weird appearance aside, it's a comfortable product with simple customization options and utility across a wide variety of genres.

Easy, deep customization ; Comfortable feel ; Great in-game performance

Expensive ; Few options for lefties or MMO players

The R.A.T. Pro X may not look pretty, but it's surprisingly comfortable, with incredible customization options.

Terrible mouse

This is the second product from this company I have been unsatisfied with. And their support ignores my requests.

Tracks horribly. Cursor moves even when the mouse isn't touched. Cursor also inches it's way to the corner of the screen if you click and the mouse is not moving. Very small and uncomfortable to hold. Also did not come with inter changeable lasers....

Too light, too small, and too cheap

- I love the R.A.T line of mouses, but would definitely NOT recommend this mouse to anyone who intends to use it for gaming purposes.

- R.A.T style mouse, which I've had 4 of and loved them all. - Price. This was a replacement for my R.A.T. 7 which recently stopped working well.

- Cheap feeling. I immediately noticed it did not have that distinct R.A.T. feeling I was used to. its far too light, all the plastic feels thin and cheap, and this consequently causes a lot of involuntary movement. -Size. The mouse is much smaller...

Light little Mouse

fast to install great tracking resolution

Very light in weight seems like 'flimsy' plastic small hands would do better with this mouse

I want my money back

Looks cool.

Very small, uncomfortable to hold. Mouse moves even when nothing is touching it. Clicking makes the mouse pointer move. Don't know if my Laser is just defective or if the mouse is just complete junk. But from how it's seeming I'm thinking it's the...

sweet

Yes. It is expensive but consider--The mouse is your direct contact to your computer. You deserve the best the market has to offer and it sure looks like this is it.

Plays great and tracks perfectly. Much lighter that RAT 7 and does not fit hand as well, but plays better after a time. The design is quite innovative and functional.

The price is almost a deal breaker.
