The Wacom Bamboo Slate is a straightforward, if limited, way of getting your notes off the page and onto your phone and cloud services. It's not cheap, but it is reliable and easy to use, and has a large writing surface.

The company's Slate and Folio are a no-risk way of getting your paper notes in the cloud.
Wacom's Bamboo Slate and Folio are easy to use and a seamless way to get your written notes into the cloud without sacrificing pen and paper.
You may not like the feel of the pen for writing in long stretches.
The Wacom Bamboo Slate and Bamboo Folio provide a practical bridge between handwritten notes on paper and making them available in the cloud.

Wacom's Bamboo Folio is part of a product range the company calls 'smartpads' . The idea is that you can write directly onto paper, and whatever you produce is converted into digital content and shared to the cloud automatically. So, that fantastic...

Most serious digital photographers know that using a graphics tablet is the best way by far when it comes to editing and making selections in Photoshop and other imaging applications. Although there ...
A graphics tablet should be considered standard equipment for anyone doing image editing. Although the Intous3 line is ideal for serious editing work, the price is too high for many casual users. With the ...

When it comes to styluses, I've been a big fan of them, whether it's the S-Pen with the Galaxy Note8, the Apple Pencil with the iPad Pro, the Surface Pen with the Surface Pro or even the Pixelbook Pen with Google Pixelbook. But if you don't own of...
Feels great in the hand ; Works with both Android and iOS ; The fine tip offers precision (when it works) ; No pairing required ; Battery life is good ; Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ now available in Canada
No palm rejection or pressure sensitivity ; The stylus makes a sound when its use ; $70 CAD is a lot for a stylus, especially one that isn’t Bluetooth ; Lags frequently on Android devices ; No way to check battery life
Overall, the Bamboo Tip is a good fine-tip stylus but I think it could be even better if it supported pressure sensitivity but that would mean that the stylus would need to be paired via Bluetooth. Sure you don’t have to worry about making sure it’s...

Wacom sets another standard in graphic touch technology with its Wacom Bamboo. Adding multi-touch capability to the device, people can now use not only the stylus but also their fingers to navigate and actuate applications
Wide touch area provides more room for navigating than mouse track pads. Touch responsive work surface makes it easy to open menu, view photos, and more with a tap of finger or hand gestures. - Pen design gives you finer control and more natural...
While the textured track pad allows for better pen and paper feel, it’s quite rough to touch when using your fingers. - 3 mm reception gap makes detailed drawings quite a challenge. - While the tablet has a pen stand, it lacks storage for holding when...
Wacom is derived from a combination of the Japanese words Wa (meaning harmony) and Komu (meaning computer). The Wacom Bamboo Tablet stays true to the creed, allowing you to work in better harmony with your computer with its pen and touch technology....

Tablet specialist Wacom has a whole line of what it calls 'Smartpads' – devices that allow you to turn handwritten notes and sketches into digital versions for transfer to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. The Bamboo Slate, unlike its Bamboo Spark...
Another mostly polished product from Wacom. But who would use it?

The first pen tablet made just for handwriting recognition
Attractive and well packaged ; Pen Flicks feature
Scrolling not the smoothest
Great for those with legible handwriting

Bamboo is Wacom's latest weapon in convincing us to seriously consider its products as mouse replacements. For the first time, it's aimed entirely at an audience that spends its time browsing the Internet, emailing and creating spreadsheets
Works excellently well, Highly versatile
A little pricey
Maybe it really is time to start considering replacing that mouse for good
