Wacom Intuos4 Wireless review: Wacom Intuos4 Wireless

Wacom Intuos4 Wireless

Beautiful, slim, and well-thought-out new design; extremely fluid pen operation.

No bundled Bluetooth adapter or mouse; schmutz very visible on black pen grip; buttons could use a bit more tactile differentiation; mouse still a bit awkward; a tad pricey; need more real-time feedback when configuring; glossy plastic panel shows...

Wacom improves on its excellent Intuos4 tablet by adding relatively seamless Bluetooth connectivity.

Wacom Intuos4

Pen tablets aren't just for commercial artists anymore. For proof, look no further than the just-released Wacom Intuos4 ($230 and up, street, depending on size), a worthy addition to the toolkits of professionals, casual artists, and photography...

Supports 2,048 levels of pen sensitivity, starting with a single gram of pressure. ExpressKeys now have OLED-illuminated labels. User can customize Touch Ring for incremental tasks. Sleek, all-black styling. Simple-to-switch ambidextrous design

Pressure, tilt, and eraser capabilities work only within compatible apps. Too easy to inadvertently press the pen's DuoSwitch. Pen grip tends to pick up dust, lint

The Wacom Intuos4 substantially improves pressure sensitivity over its predecessor and offers just the right combination of price and features for a wide audience.

Wacom Intuos4 review: Wacom Intuos4

Wacom Intuos4

Beautiful, slim and well-thought-out new design; extremely fluid pen operation.

Schmutz very visible on black pen grip; buttons could use a bit more tactile differentiation; mouse still a bit awkward; still pricey; need more real-time feedback when configuring; glossy plastic panel shows fingerprints.

With a beautiful and more functional new design, Wacom's Intuos4 tablet demonstrates that a lack of competition doesn't necessarily keep you from innovating.

Wacom Intuos4 and Bamboo Tablets Review

This week we decided to take a break from the usual computer hardware reviews to evaluate a couple products for creative artists and graphics professionals from a well-known company called Wacom. Wacom was kind enough to send us two products from their...

Wacom Intuos4 graphics tablet system

Wacom graphics tablets are the standard to which all other graphics tablets are judged, and for the most part, there aren't a whole lot of competitors that can match the usability and fit and finish of a Wacom. The Intuous 4 is a medium size tablet...

Wacom Intuos4

The Intuos4 is Wacom's new line of pressure sensitive tablets and replaces the long running Intuos3 series. Is this new line a worthy successor?

The Intuos4 builds on the strengths of its predecessor and also incorporates a stylish new look.

Over the years, I've owned a number of WACOM tablets. It started with a relatively inexpensive Graphire 2 (small) USB tablet, and I still use it to this day. I take it to classes and use it as a lightweight note-taking tool, but its lack of extra...

New ExpressKey controls (software and hardware) are a great improvement ; Slick looks, improved ambidextrous design ; Upgraded pen, mouse, and pen-holder are excellent improvements ; 2048 pressure levels double the sensitivity of previous tablets

ExpressKey buttons are disappointingly mushy, out of alignment ; Glossy black material attracts dirt and fingerprints worse than the original chrome iPod backings

In all, the tablet was a solid upgrade from the Intuos 3. The new functionality is a solid plus, as is the upgraded form and style. Graphics professionals will love the new sensitivity levels and the enhanced workflow provided by the ExpressKey...

Review: Wacom Intuos4

The Intuos4 feels great, looks gorgeous, and is extremely well-made. Photographers, designers, illustrators, and visual effects artists can all benefit from the innovations in this new line of tablets.

One more thing for new users I have found is that adjusting to drawing on the tablet is more a matter of a couple of hours than a couple of days

Wacom Intuos4

I've spent a good deal of  time drawing since I was about 10 years old. When I was 12 my dad bought our first computer, on which he promptly installed Photoshop. Needless to say, I was hooked on digital art from then on. I still do a good deal of my...

If you do a lot of sketching on your computer, you probably already use a Wacom product. I’ve yet to find another company that can even come close to the quality of their previous products. The Intuos4 is yet another finely crafted device that you'll...

Review: Wacom Intuos4 M

Right out of the box, the Intuos4 will blow you away with the nuance you can deliver with an on-screen brush, especially when you take advantage of the Intuos product line's longstanding ability to recognize pen tilt.

IPod Classic-like touch wheel interface ; New version features increased pressure sensitivity ; Ambidextrous design ; Programmable buttons featuring customizable LED display labels

For many users, new features may not merit upgrade from Intuos3 to Intuos4 ; Sub-$1,000 price tag on LCD-based Wacom Cintiq makes traditional tablets less desirable

The Intuos4 M (for medium) model, which I tested for this review, provides a roughly 9 3/8–by–5 3/4–inch drawing area, making its proportions a nice match for today’s widescreen monitors. (The tablet comes in small, large, and extra large versions...
