The Dell B1165nfw all-in-one printer is a viable partner for the small-office set

The Dell B1165nfw gets work done with a 40-page autodocument feeder, a 1,200dpi scanner, and easy Wi-Fi access without the need for a network passkey.

The ; is a dutiful monochrome laser printer that can also act as a standalone scanner, copier, and fax machine. It's cloud-ready with native support for Google Cloud Print, Apple AirPrint, and Dell's own mobile Android application.

The printer includes a "starter" cartridge with less-than-average capacity, no upgrades exist for the limited paper tray, and there's no media card reader.

As long as you don't mind not being able to print from a USB flash key, the Dell B1165nfw's healthy array of extra features and quick outbound print cycle make it worthwhile for small offices with wireless access.

Dell Multifunction Mono Laser Printer B1165nfw ( B/W )

Armed with the ability to function as a standalone scanner, copier, and fax machine, the $199.99 Dell B1165nfw is just as capable of flipping through a 40-page document stack for automatic copying as it is of printing directly from an Android...

Dell B1165nfw review

The Dell B1165nfw is a logical purchase if you're shopping for a no-frills, monochrome laser printer to output simple, text-heavy documents, but still want the functionality of an all-in-one output machine.

Dell B1165nfw Mono Laser Multifunction Printer

The Dell B1165nfw Monochrome Laser Multifunction Printer offers a full set of MFP features for light-duty use.

Prints, scans, copies, and faxes. Small size. Automatic document feeder. Ethernet. Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi Direct.

Low paper capacity. No duplexer (for two-sided printing), even as an option.

If you need a shared MFP in your micro office for even medium-duty printing, this is clearly the wrong printer to get. You'll be better off with the Dell B1265dnf Multifunction Mono Laser Printer or the Canon imageClass MF4880dw instead. However, if...

Dell B1165nfw

Dell's B1165nfw is a neat mono laser MFP, though with a couple of minor shortcomings for day-to-day use.

Easy maintenance, Well-designed controls, Low power for laser

No paper tray cover, Relatively high page cost, Slow Android print

P O S

This is the biggest piece of junk we have ever had in my office. After 4.5 months it was so beyond repair they sent a refurbished one to replace our original and that only lasted another 8 months. That was just long enough to get out of warranty and...

you can find toner for it

Won't install on Windows 8.1 systems.

The Dell "Easy" wireless setup doesn't work, and the installation disk provided with the unit would not install the drivers on a machine using Windows 8 or 8.1. Went to the Dell website for the "latest" drivers and software - same problem - would not...

Nice compact unit

Installation manual worthless "Easy" wireless setup isn't. OEM installation software crashes on Win 8 and 8.1 will not install drivers. Firmware update from Dell has no instructions, and firmware utility will not work unless drivers are installed.
