The budget-priced 720p PT-AX200U projector has several new features of Panasonic's incremental but impressive projector update – not the least of which involved a tantalizing gaming-centric mode
No screen door effect ; Excellent contrast ; Game mode for fast response and more visible shadow detail ; Great "out of the box" colors ; Backlit remote ; Light Harmonizer 2 automatic picture adjustment ; 1080p/24/60 support
Potential HDCP compatibility issues ; Non-standard power cable ; No 12V trigger

The Panasonic PT-AX200U is a three-panel LCD projector with 720p resolution, priced at $1,999, and you can get it for a lot less at ProjectorPeople.com.
At $1,699 street price – which includes a screen, ceiling mount, and cable – and if you are on a budget but want a very nice projector, here is one to consider. It looks fine out of the box, but I think all consumers should get some sort of calibration...

The Panasonic PT-AX200E is an easy to use, flexible projector that provides excellent resolution for both data and movies. However, this powerful unit is only a minor, if cheaper, upgrade of its predecessor and lacks full high definition.
Accurate colour reproduction, Impressive image quality
Plain design, Big and heavy, 720p only

Since we posted the review of the Panasonic PT-AX200, many have been asking how it stacks up against the formidable Sanyo PLV-Z5. Both of these models are 720p resolution LCD projectors and they are selling for similar prices, so putting them side by...

Brightest home theater projector around, over 2000 lumens at brightest ; Very bright in best movie mode, as well ; Very good at revealing shadow details ; Significantly lower starting price ($1299) than its predecessor, the PT-AX100U ; Vertical and...
A slightly soft image (sharpness) ; Needs minor color adjustments, out of the box ; Black levels could be a bit better ; Warranty is only 1 year parts and labor ; Although quieter than average, not as quiet as the quietest LCD projectors in its class
Perfectionists may choose another projector in the general price range, especially those focused heavily on black level performance, but for the rest of us, the PT-AX200U, is going to be a serious contender. Of course, a number of competitors cost...

Great colour reproduction, impressively clean image quality
Heavy and bulky, only 720p
Panasonic's PT-AX200E projector is great for both viewing data and movies thanks to impressive image quality and unaltered colour reproduction, but lacks Full HD output.
