We're always a bit leery when a company that has really made a name for themselves with higher end gear like processors and amps puts out a receiver. Just like when a company known for amps puts out a processor or a sub company puts out a line of...
On its face, the Anthem MXR-300 is a very capable receiver. We were surprised that they managed to get so many of the newer features into the receiver. It is missing a few important ones like networking and Airplay but many wouldn't miss or use them....

On its face, the Anthem MRX-300 is a very capable receiver. The MRX-300 sports 3D support through a free firmware update, Dual-processor audio DSP, a 1080p24 mode, Dolby Volume, and ProLogic IIx.

The Anthem MRX 300 high-end 7.1 receiver is a sonic superstar.
Sensational sound quality ; Robust construction ; ARC offers tangible improvements
Lacks features ; Workmanlike looks ; Relatively limited socketry (four HDMI inputs)

Superb sound quality ; Anthem Room Correction is incredible ; Excellent video processing ; Attractive design ; Informative menus ; Flexible setup and configuration ; Price
Build quality is good but a little plastic in places ; No SACD Direct Stream Digital over HDMI ; No multi-channel analogue inputs ; Limited feature set

This receiver is an excellent example of value for dollar and should be part of anybody's HT setup for those looking to upgrade their system. It's by far the best receiver I've owned to date. I recently replaced my old NAD T752 which I've owned since...
