Performance

Denon AVR-3806

High-end 7.1-channel A/V receiver; 120 watts per channel; High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) switching; XM Ready satellite-radio support; three-zone multiroom capability; large-screen remote reduces button clutter.

Analog inputs are limited to 480i output via HDMI, which many HDTVs can't handle; the confusing autosetup procedure will make you want to take the easier path and use the manual setup.

The successor to Denon's best-selling receiver gets even better for 2006, but the AVR-3806's HDMI implementation falls a bit short.

Denon AVR-3806 7.1-channel A/V Receiver

Denon A/V receivers are known for delivering genuine technological advancements, not whoopee-cushion gimmickry, and the mid-priced AVR-3806 is no exception. With the addition of XM capability, HDMI v.1.1 switching with analog source/video upconversion...

We couldn't resist going back and spinning CDs of the original Cream albums, and the energy levels of the youthful Creamsters have it all over the 2005 recordings. Clapton's guitar burns ever so brightly, and the Denon AVR-3806 managed to make the old...

Denon AVR-3806

This replacement for the AVR-3805, Denon's main mid-price offering, is also a 7.1 channel amplifier, with the ability to play in up to three zones, or to dedicate two power amplifiers to each of the main front speakers for improved performance

Tuneful and refined sound, Practical and improved remote control

There aren't lots of new innovations

This is an excellent all rounder with much to recommend it in the mid-price range

After reading good reviews. I went and bought one. Very happy with the performance. Shame about the remote control unit "who ever invented it should be shot:)" The manual book is a joke, I learn all the settings by playing around with it.
