Onkyo TX-SR578

The Onkyo TX-SR578 is one of the best receivers under a grand and offers great sound, 3D compatibility and even an optional DAB+ tuner.

Incredibly musical. Equally good at surround sound. Great value for money. One of the few devices to offer DAB+.

Limited inputs of any kind. Some smearing on "through" video. DAB+ receiver and iPod dock cost extra.

The Onkyo TX-SR578 is one of the best receivers under a grand offering great sound, 3D compatibility and even an optional DAB+ tuner.

Onkyo TX-SR578

Got this amp along with a new 3D TV a few months back, have been loving it, much better than the denon that I replaced. I don't use 1080p upscaling, have it set to "through" but have never experienced smearing.. I will have a closer look tonight after...

Sound quality, menu, layout, HDMI 1.4, ARC, 3D

no banana plugs, cheap looking remote, direct not default sound channel

Would be good except for overheating problem

This receiver was recommended to us by the salesman. It is set up with a tv and blue-ray player. I am happy with the way the receiver works but we have had to put a small fan beside the system and have it going every time we have the receiver on or it...

It has 2 zones to allow for a second set of speakers with their own control

Overheating - big problem.
