Great surround sound and effects if hooked up to quality home cinema speakers. All in all superb value for money.

Only 2 x HDMI ports which carry image and not sound. Only to digital optic ports for carrying sound so if you have three devices with digital output you will need a switch.

good quality amp with more than enough speaker settings and surround sound settings etc to keep an enthusiast happy like me. I've paired mine with the new tannoy hts speakers. Sounds amazing.... both films and music.

maybe the display could be a bit more informative, also why do i need optical cables aswell as hdmi's??? hdmi is capable of delivering hd picture and 5.1 sound??? no problem just means more cables than necessary

Not really a bad point but because the VSX-420K AV Receiver has so many features the operating manual is rather thick and it does take a bit of time to learn about all the features and how to access them.

very good value for the money. sound is nice not to punchy .easy set up.

remote control looks and feels poor quality

Has lot's of audio features. Smart looks. Good remote control.

I wanted to control two zones with this product, which is possible, but the second zone must be powered by a seperate amp.
