Primare I21 Integrated Amplifier

Neutrality is the theme song of this Danish integrated amp and matching CD player

Just have to add, Primare is not Danish but Swedish

Primare I21 review

A beautifully built, stylish, and capable amp it might be, but its overall character might prove a little too polite for some

Grand scale soundstage ; detailed listen ; bass delves deep

Sonic signature a touch laid back ; treble veers towards the sharper side

If you like a laid-back sound, housed in a gorgeous chassis, check out the I21

Primare I21

Considering its price, this amp is very high-end in appearance. Primare has the knack of classy visual design, and it's all so efficiently done, too - a plain steel tray for the base, back and sides, with an aluminium front panel added

Good looks, Excels in midrange and treble

Average imaging, Lacks low-frequency subtlety

Great design considering the price but a frustratingly mixed bag performance-wise

Primare I21

Although this is the base model in the Swedish company's range of electronics its build and styling are on a par with its best kit, its stainless front panel means it certainly looks like the most expensive amp in this bunch. A 75-watts-per-channel...

Open, relaxed and expansive sound, superb build

Not as precise as some
