Top notch mid range receiver

Easy to use and set up. I personally did not like the ypao setup. I did the manual setup and it sounds alot better. Great features and on screen menu is perfect. The on screen volume level is not a problem as I thought it would be. Music and movies...

The reason why I did not give it 5 stars, is because of the video processing. I have it hooked up to my sony 52xbr hx909. Before I ran everything through the receiver my picture was truly flawless. But now I have juttering and motion blur. Also 3D is...

Solid and Robust

This is one solid receiver. I use this with Klipsch RF52, RC52, RB41, Polk PSW505. It is an incredible sound system. The video is also very clear. I heard lot of issues with Onkyo and decided to go with Yamaha and very pleased with it. Thsi is very...

Solid built , very robust ; plays most of the formats ; Best Reciver Award for 2011 from CNET ; Does not heat up like Onky ; Setups in breeze with auto calibrator

Lacks Network capability

Simply Amazing!

You could spend a lot of time going back and forth between this receiver and competitors at this price range. Unless you are true blue audio/video-phile, will not miss out on anything by purchasing this. Even if you are, this can still have a place as...

This is the Lotus (car company) of receivers. You spend an order of magnitude less than competitors, receive a product that will pass as exotic/exceptional to all but a select few elitists, and deliver mind-blowing performance ; This receiver has all...

If I wrote a con here I would be niggling. The simple fact of the matter is any con that exists is only enumerated by the overwhelming quality of nearly every aspect of this receiver. Yamaha obviously put an incredible amount of attention to detail...

What a difference - MY SURPRISE

The receiver price is that of the big-box stores but when newegg puts a promotional card (mine was 150$) or a set of speakers you simply can't beat newegg. (unfortunately NOT a paid endorsement)

Switching from a 8 year old Sony HTIB to this yamaha with Energy Take Classic speakers AMAZED me. I had no idea what I've been missing around highs and lows. Also I cleaned up the seemingly miles of cables...HDMI's in and one out to the TV

Not really a con, but was surprised by the volume settings on this receiver....always shows in the negative. But lots of writeups that this is normal

Great Value

The mids and highs cleared up and became much more useful with this receiver from my previous one. Before things could sound muddy or slightly lost among everything else, but now everything is extremely crisp, clear, and clean. My PSW505 has gained a...

Great value, especially if you get it during one of the promotions (that seem to keep popping up with this item). Superb sound, excellent GUI menu system, nice auto calibration feature included. . .overall great package

So far I have not found anything from my personal use. I suppose some might consider the on screen volume display annoying, but I don't. . .as well as the lack of (mp3 player who's name and brand shall not be uttered from my mouth or typed by my...

Very Nice

Very nice receiver, quality sound, quality picture, easy setup, easy operation, simplifies connection and operation of multi-component HDTV systems. The optional iPod doc (YDS-12BL) works flawlessly with my iPhone 4, can even play Pandora (you have to...

Don't believe all offers advertised here

When I ordered this reciever I was suppose to recieve a set of RM-75 Polk speakers $199 value as a promotional offer. To my surprise the reciever showed up with no speakers, I called customer service and after talking to several people they told that...

Reciever works great

Excellent mid-level receiver

The amount of features you get for the price simply can't be beat. Don't hesitate to purchase this receiver.

This receiver replaced an old Yamaha RX-V2092 (flagship from back in the day). I've always liked the warmer sound that Yamaha receivers have produced, and it matches very nicely to a set of B&W loudspeakers. The automatic speaker setup is really much...

It would be nice to have the ability to use the component and other video sources in pass through mode in addition to the HDMI ; Any sort of description of the settings and choices in the visual setup screens on the receiver itself would be very...

Fantastic receiver for the price

Easy to set up, and the YPAO Automatic System Calibration makes the surround sound calibration a breeze. I still have a lot od calibration/tweeking to get the most out ofthis receiver, but I find it amazing it was out of the box and up and running in...

None for Newegg, or Yamaha, but UPS is another story ; UPS thought it was a good idea to leave a $500 reveiver, in a "Yamaha Reciever" on my door stop, but has made me pick up/sign for a < $100 item... I would have thought something so expensive...
