don't do it!

Receiver just up & died after only 18 months. Went on line to see if anyone else had this problem, and found several others that had theirs die about the same time limit. Was playing it, and it just all the sudden died...no more sound.

Cheep and clean, but....

Clean, low distortion power for my small living room. Seems to run really cool. Initial impression is that this is a great bargain.

Decent while it lasted

I bought this unit and hooked it up to four 8 ohm speakers. It worked well for several months. It didn't sound bad for a cheap receiver. After several month, it failed to power-up. It was well past the return period but I contacted Sherwood customer...

Broke after 4 months

Since there is only a 30 day RMA, and after that you have to go through the manufacturer, avoid this "deal." I expect lots of downtime as I ship it off to some service center and then wait for it to be fixed and returned. Not worth it considering this...

This was cheap. It worked for a while.

All front panel controls failed after less than four months of light use. The display still lights up, but no controls will work, either the remote or the onboard controls. It is frozen in the power on mode, with the volume stuck at where it was last...

Worked Well while it lasted

I didn't love the thing, but I was happy that it worked. NOw that it doesn't work I hate many things about it. Turned off on its own, no HDMI, kind of ugly, and lasts less than 3 months.

Worked well with my Polk Audio Studio 70's most of the time. At times, the sound would go out and the thing would power down. Its seemed to push my Studio 70's quite decently.

I bought this in November and the right audio channel is now blown and it's only January. Not even three months for a hundred bucks. Sherwood's support website doesn't even pull up for this model anymore.

I would not buy

Cheap

First one I bought at best buy was DOA ; Repacement lasted about two years and not working ; Tuner can't pick up anything not in your back yard ; The controls don't not user frendly ; Save you mony and buy anything else

RX-4105

Going to make a new antenna for the system, which then I'll have no problem. Kinda fun making them too.

Does what it's supposed to do. Have it hooked up to an old Cre@tive 5.1 which seems to work pretty well

The main reason I'm using it is to sync up am/fm radio with football and baseball games. The antennas that come with it for both am and fm aren't that good a quality, but then again nothing you get that's stock is ever good
