Do not buy unless you have a 1080P television

I'm sure it's a good receiver for the money if you can take advantage of the 1080P. Unfortunately there is nowhere on Sony's site or in the manual where it says HDMI only works with 1080P. I guess because Sony executives all have 1080P TV's, they...

Auto Calbration is excellent, upconverts video to 1080P, multi sub output, sound quality is good

HDMI will ONLY output at 1080P. This includes upconversion. If you are planning on using HDMI, and do not have a 1080P television, do not buy this product. Also, on screen display will only work with Sony Bravia line of televisions
