Can't tell the difference from low-end receiver

I owned this receiver for about a month. Before owned this receiver, I had Pioneer VSX-520K and I feel like the sound is much more bold on pioneer compare to this Yamaha. without USB and ethernet, this receiver just like other low-end counterparts....

plenty of HDMI input ; Dual HDMI output ; low power consumption on HDMI pass-through

Sound quality feels like similiar or less than low-end receiver ; lack of USB port and ethernet connectivity ; Design for advance audiophile, not average consumer

adding more speakers to it as I only have two hooked up to it.

no printed manual.... update is hard to do (Yamaha mailed me the disk but I havn't tried to update it yet). A few second lag time between hearing and seeing the TV (when first turning it on)but it is so short it is not a bad thing

Very nice receiver

Bought exclusively for the two HDMI outputs. My Pioneer wouldn't do audio through HDMI so all my components were double wired. The Yamaha eliminated half the wiring in my cabinet.

Easy to setup, beautiful sounding and with two HDMI outputs easily accomadates my projector and flatscreen

The YPOA gives intermittent reverse phase errors when setting up the speakers ; If weight is a positive then this reciever doesn't weigh as much as the VSX-1017 it replaced...but i don't hear any difference at normal listening volumes
