Review: Canon ImageFormula DR-2010M document scanner

If you're looking for a scanner to help pare down your paper pile, the imageFORMULA DR-2010M should be on your list.

The DR-2010M connects to your Mac via USB 2.0. It scans both sides of a document simultaneously, at resolutions of up to 600 dpi and 24-bit color

Canon ImageFormula DR-2010M review

The Canon ImageFormula DR-2010M connects to your Mac via USB 2.0. It scans both sides of a document simultaneously, at resolutions of up to 600 dpi and 24-bit colour.

If you're looking for a scanner to help pare down your paper pile, the Canon ImageFormula DR-2010M should be on your list. It proved to be both easy to use and fast, with good image quality and impressive OCR capabilities.

Adequate for home use

The installation guide is a little confusing (some of it my own fault in hindsight). Order of installation: 1) image Formula DR_2010C CD (make sure you check for driver updates online); 2) image Formula App Software CD; 3) Acrobat Standard 9 DVD; 4)...

Very Fast scanner for the use (speed of feed + speed of display)! Acrobat Standard 9 provided as well

Somewhat confusing installation, but the how-to guide could be a little bit more straightforward. Still, once everything is laid out, great scanner

Good scanner

Easily installed. Got up and running in less than 20 minutes. This is my fifth canon scanner. I have loved them all

None at this time

Medical Office

Fast, economical, easy to use

It does draw more than 1 page at a time if it is dirty. But very easy to clean

Six months on

I wrote a review for this product on 04 November 2008. I have moderated my opinion of this scanner now, and only give it four stars. To be honest, I do think I would have enjoyed another Fujitsu just as much. I use the scanner extensively (three our...

Fast, great contrast, small file sizes, good color, decent OCR, twain driver, capture perfect software is very good (once you get to know it), small size, build quality, and did I mention fast

Occasionally pulls more than one page at a time, but nothing like the experience the other review had where he/she has to feed it one page at a time (I routinely run 10-25 page documents through this baby without issues most of the time - be sure to...

Almost Great

If it wasn't for for the terrible feeder problems it would be an amazing scanner, but considering the problems I'm having with the feeding of documents I can not reccomend this scanner to anyone who has to scan a lot of mulit-page documents. You will...

Great scan quality and a lot of options to achieve it. Bundled Acrobat Standard is a great bonus. File sizes of scanned documents are very small which saves on storage space. Duplex Scanning

Sheet feeder vent bad very quickly. I have to feed sheets one by one or it will pull them all in, no mater how many sheets there are. No support from Cannon, you're pretty much stuck if you have any issues with the scanner, not even an online FAQ

Glad I took time to research

It's been two years since I left the employment of the place where I purchased and used one of the similar Fujitsu scanners, and have missed it sorely. I almost bought another, but this little gem won me over through web research. Now that I have it...

With custom tweaking, excellent results. Scan speed is blazing fast without some of the extras turned on, such as deskew, HQ moire reduction, and blank page removal. Scan speed is decent with some of these extras turned on, but your not going to have...

Having used and loved one of those Fujitsu scanners for a year that has created this market (at this price point) I must compare it to that. I think that Fujitsu's software is better than Canon's overall, at least from a simplicity point of view. I...

Fast and accurate.

I compared this with Kodak i1120 and Visioneer Patriot. I decided on the Canon based on good experience with Canon scanners and the $110 price drop. I thought I was upgrading my HP 5590. This was not an upgrade, it was a revolution.

Extremely fast. Scans both sides at once. Can recognize and skip blank pages. No difference in speed between B& ; W and color. Good OCR capability. Doesn't take up much space

Frequent double-feed with thin or folded sheets. Buttons on the front are so slow that they are almost useless. I can manually open the included software, scan my documents, and close the software again faster than using the buttons. That was the main...
