Plustek MobileOffice D28 Corporate

The Plustek MobileOffice D28 offers fast scans for a portable scanner, plus duplex scanning.

Fast. Duplex scanning (both sides of a page at once). You can set the paper path to feed straight through or curve up.

Needs separate power cord. Shortcomings in software.

Plustek OpticSlim M12 Corporate

Both the original M12 and the M12 Corporate use the same one-page-at-a-time sheet-fed scanner with a maximum resolution of 600 by 600 pixels per inch. And the scanner itself is just as much a winner now as when I first looked at it.

Small, light, highly portable. Powered through USB connection. Comes with very capable software

Sheet-fed only, making it a questionable choice for scanning photos

Despite the name, the highly portable Plustek OpticSlim M12 Corporate scanner should be attractive to any home-office, small-office, or corporate user.

Plustek OpticSlim M12

The Plustek OpticSlim M12 ($129 direct) is a prime example of how software can make or break a scanner package. The hardware is a winner: It is about the size of a ruler and weighs less than a pound. It can sit unobtrusively by your keyboard or...

Highly portable. Small footprint, about the size of a 12-inch ruler. Can be mounted on a wall. Powered through the USB connection

Software focuses on photos, but the hardware works better with paper documents. Photo quality is only fair, and photos tend to pivot as they feed

The Plustek OpticSlim M12 scanner is light enough, at 0.7 pounds, to take with you if you need portability, and it occupies just 10.8 by 1.9 inches on your desk. Unfortunately, the software concentrates on photos, while the hardware seems better suited...

Review: Plustek MobileOffice D28 Corporate Scanner

Plustek has been at the forefront of small, lightweight, portable scanners. The OpticSlim series of scanners has been very popular because of their small size. The MobileOffice D28 corporate keeps a small size, but adds a lot more functionality.

Review: Plustek OpticSlim M12 scanner

Have you ever tried to take your flatbed scanner with you when you travel, go to the library or anywhere else you might go? It is a real pain to box it up and make sure the scanning head is locked and secure. Now with the OpticSlim M12 that is no...

Nice Little Scanner

I cannot comment on its bundled software because I use my scanners with PaperPort. With PaperPort, it scans B&W, Grayscale, & Color with outputs of .jpg, .max, .tif, .bmp, etc. If original goes in crooked, the copy can be straightened out in PaperPort....

Compact size, USB powered (no external power supply), works with Windows 7 64 Home Prem. Has TWAIN output so it works with PaperPort. Output is excellent, very close to the original. Relatively easy to set up

Hard to get used to putting original in face down (trivial complaint). Must be careful inputting original or it will either go crooked or cut off one end or the other. A bit slow but faster than scanning a number of individual pages on a manual flatbed
