CoffeeGeek - Gaggia Baby Twin Espresso - P-J De Boer's Review

I have bought this machine two years ago, looking for something more to get out of my coffee than what my stovetop "espresso" pot could provide. Being briefly (but only very briefly) tempted by a Nespresso, I first considered buying a Silvia, but was...

Looks nice ; Easy to use ; Good machine for an espresso beginner ; Steams very well once you know how it works ; Makes decent espresso

Espresso quality seems to have its limits on this machine: good at best, never great ; Machine appears to have some design weakness which causes leaking from the driptray or via the solenoid valve

CoffeeGeek - Gaggia Baby Twin Espresso - Michael Smith's Review

O.k., I definitely would NOT buy this machine and would strongly recommend you don't either. Having said that, I continue to use and enjoy my machine several times every day. It brews excellent espresso shots. But that's about it. The water...

Very easy to use, very forgiving as to grinds, water reservoir well designed, easy to clean, buttons and controls are simple, attractive machine, portafilter and group head are chrome coated brass, drip tray easily removable, brews good shots, outside...

Extremely weak steam pressure; second "double boiler" is a ridiculously cheap snail-shaped pot metal/aluminum "thermoblock" which leaked after a couple of months, caused rust inside machine, and then quit working altogether; replacement parts nearly...

CoffeeGeek - Gaggia Baby Twin Espresso - Don Surplus's Review

Do Not Buy The Baby Twin! Computer problems were not solvable by tech support. Replacement Baby Twin did the same thing, not solvable by tech support. In short, the computer activated by the "Touch-Ring" control delivers an inconsistent cup, from...

Makes a nice cup of coffee, manually

the computer problem was never solved by tech support from vendor or Gaggia

GAGGIA change your name to FIAT - as in "FIX IT AGAIN TONY"

We purchased this particular machine because we wanted an espresso maker that did not have a lot of 'bells and whistles' on it, because we wanted a reliable machine of good quality.

It makes really good espresso

It has broken down and been sent for repairs three times in the last 1 1/2 years ; The same component keeps failing ; We were informed that the company (Gaggia) has stopped making the part

I will stay away from Gaggia when I purchase my new machine they will not be on my enquiry list.

I purchased the Gaggia Baby Twin on a deal whereby it included a base stand and Coffee Grinder all for $380 I thought thia was an extremely good deal.

Makes good Expresso but contaminates milk whilst frothing

Very unreliable , machine has broken down 3 times in 2 years with extensive waiting times for spares in between failures

It is an attractive machine, makes very good espresso, some problems with a machine oil smell from the steamer

Baby Gaggia Twin

Pros: Looks great, seems sturdy, is easy to use and clean, heats up quickly, makes very good espresso

Cons: There is a smell from the steam wand, it gets less over time and I am told that running descaler through it will eliminate it. (Why couldn't they do that?) The group head is configured in such a way that you cannot really fill the portafilter...

Machine broke. Gaggia customer service pathetic. I will never buy another Gaggia again.

I had only had the Gaggia six months before it stopped working. I took it to the service centre recommended on the US Gaggia website. It sat there for a further six months while waiting for parts from Gaggia. Apparently the circuit board was kaput. So,...

The machine looks good and seemed to work pretty well, I got great coffee but the milk was hard to steam up

It broke after less than six months

Wait a few months till they work out the burnt tire taste, you won't regret it.

This is my second Gaggia Baby Twin. I returned my first one for the same reason. The steamer emits a foul odor that smells something like burning tires. It permeates the milk and smells and tastes disgusting. Gaggia/Importika has been kind to allow...

Very nice looking, easy to fill top loading tank, pre doser works fine, easy to clean

Steamer emits a foul odor. Permeates the milk and makes it taste disgusting. The on/off swithch is inconveniently placed in the back of the unit. Frother is rather toy like

Not the machine for the new coffee maker.

Being a first time buyer of an espresso machine, I utilized the coffeegeek consumer reviews as my starting point. I narrowed down to a few machines with the Baby being the lowest on my list. But price won out. I recieved a 20% off from Bed Bath and...

Nice looking product

espresso never hot, pump stopped working after 3 months. More water than steam added to milk when frothing

The Baby Twin is an all-around great espresso machine packed full of high-tech features; however, what should be its greatest strength may be its grea

The Gaggia Baby Twin is an extremely capable home espresso machine that is loaded with high-tech features. The quality of the espresso shots is as good as as on the revered Rancilio Silvia. The capabilities and features of the machine are...

Excellent espresso ; Solid build and quality components ; Beautiful aesthetics ; Touch Ring control panel ; Numerous high-tech features and conveniences

Steaming capacity ; Pannarello type steam wand
