Apple Watch Series 8 review: if it ain’t broke

The Apple Watch Series 8 adds new temperature sensors and Crash Detection, but there isn't much reason to upgrade if you're happy with what you've got. Still, this is the best Apple Watch for the majority of people.

watchOS 9 is excellent ; Neat use of temperature sensors ; Crash Detection! ; Low-power mode is helpful

You still need to charge daily ; It’s not much different from the past few Apple Watch models

Listen, the Series 8 doesn’t revolutionize the Apple Watch as we know it, but it doesn’t have to. Part of the reason why Apple can get away with year after year of incremental updates is because it is light-years ahead of its rivals for iOS users....

The Apple Watch Series 8 adds a couple of little improvements to an already successful formula.

Beautiful look, premium feel ; Smooth performance ; Tons of bands available - 1st and 3rd party ; Water-resistant ; Huge amount of fitness tracking options, plus custom programs (available with watchOS 9) ; Sleep stages (available with watchOS 9)

Temperature sensor is underused ; Some may be getting tired with the design ; Only pairs and activates with iPhone (sorry, iPad users)
