The Fitbit Charge 2's upgrades are incremental, but necessary

The Fitbit Charge 2 brings some much-needed updates to the popular Charge HR. It can now track your distance by tapping your phone's GPS for more accurate pace info and will automatically detect that you're working out after 15 minutes. It also has new...

Bigger display ; Long-lasting battery ; Continuous heart rate tracking ; Automatic workout detection

Unwieldy guided breathing implementation ; Bland design

Fitbit's Charge line was in serious need of an update, and it finally has a decent offering in the Charge 2. The new heart-rate and activity tracker brings important tools such as auto exercise tracking and GPS connectivity, which are good enough that...

Fitbit Charge 2 review: a promising fitness tracker, plagued by bugs

People really love their Fitbits. This is evidenced by sales numbers alone: Fitbit sells more activity trackers than anyone else. Anecdotally, Fitbits abound: walk through any airport, hike any...

Charge 2 is the best Fitbit yet (review)

Just about everything you need for fitness... except GPS and water resistance.

Swappable bands. A multi-line OLED display that can show time and fitness data. Always-on heart rate. A great companion app. Affordable price. Five-day battery life.

Not water-resistant for swims or showers. Lacks GPS. Phone notifications on the Charge 2 display are limited and hard to read.

If you don't need water resistance and GPS, the Fitbit Charge 2 is the best overall fitness tracker you can buy.

Fitbit Charge Review

The wrist-worn Fitbit Charge is a superb if somewhat basic activity tracker. A slim and sleek design make it truly wearable, and the companion Fitbit website and mobile apps are the best you'll find. But the Charge isn't highly sophisticated, and other...

Fitbit Charge 2 Review: This Redesigned Tracker Shines

It's hard to say that a company is in trouble when it owns 70 percent of the entire wearables market, but many — including myself — were wondering if Fitbit had lost its mojo. There's nothing hugely revolutionary about the Charge 2, but its new...

Interchangeable band ; Accurate heart rate monitor ; Great app ; Good battery life

Not swim resistant ; Hard to see display in sunlight

A refreshed design, larger screen and enhanced activity capabilities make the Fitbit Charge 2 an excellent midrange fitness tracker.
