The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is stuck in a familiar orbit

 

The $349.99 Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is a great smartwatch, but an iterative update. It adds Gemini, a new squircle design, and some hit-or-miss health features.

When I wrote my Galaxy Watch 6 review two years ago, I asked how long Samsung could continue to coast. It’s a bummer to be sitting here, two years later, pondering the same question.

I spent two weeks with the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and I really think it's worth $500

 

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic isn't the cheapest Wear OS watch you can buy in 2025, but it is one of the best.

The rotating bezel is back ; New watch band system is fantastic ; One UI 8 Watch is a huge upgrade ; Gemini built-in ; Endless Samsung Health features ; Running Coach is a great addition

1.3-inch display feels cramped ; Wonky SpO2 tracking ; Antioxidant and vascular load features are questionable ; Significantly more expensive than regular Galaxy Watch 8
