A unique design doesn't make LG's latest smartwatch a winner.
Watch-like appearance ; Can easily read the time outdoors ; Battery lasts through a day without issue
Thick, chunky design ; No GPS, NFC, or heart rate monitoring ; Analog hands cause interface limitations and annoyances
The LG Watch W7 is a unique Wear OS watch that has analog hands in addition to the usual touchscreen. But even though it stands out from the crowd with those analog hands, it lacks many other features that smartwatch users are accustomed to having.

The LG Watch W7 is a $450 Wear OS-powered smartwatch that takes the surprising step of adding analog hands on top of a touchscreen display.

If we're to listen to complaints about Wear OS, the one thing everybody agrees on is that OEMs should try new things. That's why it's interesting to see

Hardware ; Wear 2100 chipset is old. ; Missing hardware ; Ambient light, heart rate, NFC, LTE, dedicated GPS, and a speaker ; Hands (again) ; They get in the way. A lot...

LG has a new Wear OS smartwatch that's unlike anything else we've seen.

The hybrid smartwatch has mechanical dials over a digital display
Classic design with distinctive mechanical look ; A good pick for those averse to all-digital watches ; No bloatware
Pricey without the toys – you're paying for style ; No heartbeat sensor ; LG apps are pretty basic
A pricey but handsome, no-frills smartwatch with a unique analog spin.
