Samsung 840 EVO (500GB)

Whether you're a regular user or even an enthusiast, the Samsung 840 EVO (500GB) has the best price/performance ratio of any internal solid-state drive (SSD) you can buy today.

Costs just over 50 cents per GB. Performs like a standard multi-layer-cell (MLC) drive.

Its triple-level-cell (TLC) NAND isn't suitable for all workloads or scenarios.

This Samsung 840 EVO (500GB) is the SSD equivalent of having one's cake and eating it, too. When the Samsung 840 and 840 Pro launched, there was justified concern about the drive's use of TLC NAND, and a significant performance gap between the two....

The Samsung 840 Evo offers great performance, top capacity, and a helpful software bundle, and doesn't dig a hole in your wallet. What else can you ask for in a solid-state drive?
