Samsung's SSD 970 EVO Plus is less expensive and just as capable as its predecessor, making it an excellent choice for installation in a gaming rig or high-end PC upgrade.

Samsung has tweaked the firmware of its 970 EVO m.2 NVMe drive, and the result is the faster, cheaper 970 EVO Plus.
Fast everyday performance ; More affordable than the 970 Pro ; Write performance drop is mild compared to that of other TLC drives
Slows to 875MBps during long writes
The 970 EVO Plus is more affordable than ever, and will run like a champ the vast majority of the time. Even when it drops out of cache, 850MBps isn't going to cause you much buyer remorse. If you want something better than bargain-basement (which is...

Samsung's new 970 EVO Plus replaces the ever-popular 970 EVO as its mainstream NVMe SSD for tech enthusiasts, hardcore gamers, and professionals. Samsung equipped the SSD with its new V5 flash, which provides a nice bump in performance up to 3.5 GB/s...
Solid overall performance ; Black PCB ; Excellent software package
Could use further efficiency optimization
With better performance, efficiency, and lower MSRPs, Samsung’s 970 EVO Plus is a big "plus" in almost every way over its predecessor. It rivals its bigger brother, the 970 PRO, and comes with a complete software suite, making the Samsung 970 EVO Plus...
Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD Gold Award
Expert review by : Gavin Bonshor (play3r.net)
Gav returns from the dead to review the brand new Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB SSD. It's NVMe which means it's really fast and it looks to make V-Nand SSDs much more competitive with a global fall in SSD prices.

Samsung hasn't missed a beat in their last few SSD launches, but this latest one is a bit different, introducing a "Plus" range of the EVO SSDs. Is it really anything extra? Let's find o...
+ Better than the already great 970 EVO in every test + Looks good + Competitive price + Easy to install + 5-year warranty
- None
It’s only 8 months since the initial release of the 970 EVO but already Samsung have somehow managed to push write speeds through the roof. We found an increase in all of our tests for the same capacity, some increases were smaller than others, but an...

I purchased this as a upgrade for my pc and is working great . I did a fresh install of Windows which didn't take long and once set up away you go. You get really fast speed and programmes load almost instantly. I should be future proofed for a couple...

Brought this a few days ago, easy to install on your motherboard, only slight niggle is that the pc may not actually pick it up as it will need to be formatted. All in all great piece of hardware, keeps boots and such very speedy.
Consumer review (very.co.uk)
Super fast, tiny, easy to fit. Idles at about 49c and load is anything up to 60c. If you have an M.2 pcie slot, and need some super fast storage, this is worth a look.
