Transcend SSD340 (256GB) Review

A couple of months ago we reviewed JMicron's JMF667H reference design SSDs , which did relatively well in our tests especially when taking JMicron's previous SSD controllers into account. As always, reference designs are only meant for evaluation and...

All in all, the SSD340 is a rather unimpressive drive. At $50 for 128GB and $90 for 256GB, it might be a good option for buyers that have a very tight budget, but at the current prices the SSD340 just does not make any sense. You are much better off...

Transcend SSD340 256 GB Review: Now With JMicron Inside

We have our first retail SSD with JMicron's JMF667H controller. Paying $115 for 256 GB of fast storage sure sounds attractive, but has the company ironed out the issues that plagued it in the early days of SSDs? We run its SSD340 through our grinder.

Great LITTLE SSD

Be mindful that 128gb will fill quickly. I'm upgrading to a larger SSD. This one will be used for small media projects in the future.

Typical SSD, much faster than an HDD

Quick, cheap and reliable

After 2 years mine is still going strong. I don't like to review things after one week of ownership. Even the cheapest parts should last you a week in my opinion. This has lasted 2 years and runs my OS perfectly. From power on to surfing the internet...

It is an SSD. Quick. Easy to install. Cheap

Transcend SSD 2.5" 128GB SATA Internal Great Buy

I bought this to use as my C: drive in a new custom build. I hadn't even seen one in person, so I was pretty awed by how tiny and light it is. Plugged it in and off we go..I'm a graphic designer (as well as pc builder lol) and I have lots and lots of...

This drive failed me

Did all sorts of self-help stuff first to identify, then fix the problem. This included testing the RAM and my numerous reinstalls. Possible that this drive just doesn't play nice with WIndows 10 for some reason.

It was very fast and worked well for a few months. Through August and most of September I had no problems.

Then I started getting error messages about Windows being corrupted. Next thing I know the drive is completely wiped. I reinstall Windows on it, woks fine for a day or two, then has registry issues. Wiped it myself this time and reinstalled again. In...

good

Quick cloning. Did not use software on HD. Faster boot now. Does not come with a spacer for those laptops that have an older thicker drive. Would be nice to include a plastic rectangle spacer.

Good Performance with average speeds.

Ive installed this SSD340 64GB SSD on Touchsmart M7 j010dx as primary drive and installed Windows 8.1. It took couple of hours to setup this drive with existing 1TB HGST Harddisk. First I connected this SSD in 1st Port and 1TB Hard disk in 2nd port....

A good SSD!

This is about as good as it gets... I have had no problems with this drive.

Good value, included software not great

The drive itself has been working well, and has definitely accelerated my boot-up and program loading time. However, the cloning software did not work from by boot partition - it only seems to work cloning an entire drive. So I had to find other...
