Western Digital My Passport Wireless SSD

The Western Digital My Passport Wireless SSD is pricey, but this feature-packed drive can do much more than just wirelessly transfer files.

Durable. Built-in SD card reader and USB port. Plex support. Doubles as a power bank.

Expensive. No Thunderbolt support.

Bottom Line: The Western Digital My Passport Wireless SSD is pricey, but this feature-packed drive can do much more than just wirelessly transfer files.

Western Digital My Passport Wireless (1TB)

The 1TB Western Digital My Passport Wireless portable media drive lets you carry lots of movies, music, and photos with you, and it adds a few notable extras including an SD card slot.

Compact chassis. SD card slot for downloading media. Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button. Internet pass-through. Caches media lists.

Internal player doesn't resume playback. DRM-protected content better handled by iTunes. Only manual drag-and-drop copying to drive. No Kindle client. Gyroscopic effects while operating.

If you have your media files organized on your host PCs or home server, then the Western Digital My Passport Wireless is a great way to bring them with you on a business trip or vacation. If you're like most folks and have files and folders all over...

WD My Passport Wireless (2TB)

On the downside, its battery lasted just about 5 and a half hours in my trials, which is shorter than some of its rivals. Also, it could deliver a better media streaming experience and the WD My Cloud mobile app needs a sharper interface. To make up...

The WD My Passport Wireless has a built-in SD card slot and supports faster Wi-Fi standard than competing devices. The device is versatile, easy to use, and provides up to 2TB of mobile storage space.

The device's battery life is comparatively short. Its mobile app has limited file format support, can be confusing for new users, and takes a long time to load photos.

Despite the rather short battery life and confusing apps, the WD My Passport Wireless is an excellent mobile media drive, especially for photographers.

Western Digital My Passport Wireless Pro 2TB Review (Page 1 of 9)
