This is a single unit with a pair of speakers built in to output and charge your iPod or iPhone but it has a plus in that even without the iPod or iPhone attached it is also an FM radio complete of course with its own remote control.

It is definitely worth the price. The only negative about the dock is the fact that you cannot use an iphone with certain cases. This however is expected and most docks have this problem.

Sound quality is OK but does not work when run on battery it automatically powers off in 2-3 mins though battery is fully charged you need to keep pressing power button for this thing to work on battery power.

Sound is good. Picture is slightly deceptive. The speaker grill appears to be like normal, rigid type. However in reality it is a soft flexible mesh screen. Not very good for durability. One hard poke and it will tear.

I just charged it up and played it outside where is sounded great. I even got a call on my phone and checked out the auto mute. Remote is also nice.

The speakers quit working after four months. I don't think I will be buying from Altec again. I have a sony docking station for 2 years no problem whatsoever.
