Altec Lansing InMotion Air IMW725 review: Altec Lansing InMotion Air IMW725

Altec Lansing InMotion Air IMW725

The ; is a Bluetooth speaker with a rechargeable battery for cord-free audio. Its attractive design includes a built-in handle, and a remote that stores in a hideaway slot. The InMotion Air plays pretty loudly, and it comes with a USB dongle for...

There's no dock for charging an iPhone or iPod, and bass is thin.

Though it's neither the best-sounding nor the cheapest Bluetooth speaker we've heard, the Altec Lansing InMotion Air IMW725 wins points for its attractive design, portability, and plug-and-play setup with any PC.

Altec Lansing inMotion Air iMW725

The Altec Lansing inMotion Air iMW725 isn't a portable iPod dock, but it will wirelessly stream quality audio from Bluetooth enabled devices or your computer.

Streams music from source via either USB dongle or Bluetooth. Remote controls iTunes and paired Bluetooth devices. Susbtantial low-end for a portable unit. Overall sound quality is above average.

Despite solid audio quality, the unit distorts at high volumes. No physical iPod dock connection.

The remote, which measures roughly 3.8 by 1.2 by 0.3 inches, has controls for selecting the Source, Power, Volume, Track Forward/Backward, Ess (which is a stereo-enhancing sound effect I recommend leaving off), Play/Pause, Mute, and Launch, which opens...

Review- Altec Lansing inMotion Air Speaker System

I had the opportunity to spend some time at Altec Lansing's headquarters in Milford Pennsylvania the other day. They were kind enough to let me see the inner workings of the company and to visit some of their sound labs. While I can't go into detail on...

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Great value, great sound in small package.

Had this for a year now, fantastic speaker. Bought for my wife who thought she'd never use it, but we use it several times a week! we take it on the boat, to the beach, on our patio. Sound, to me, is better than the Bose unit costing 2x.

Easy to pair, sounds great, much less expensive than other comparable bluetooth speakers.

LED's on top of unit aren't very helpful...bluetooth connection should glow blue, Can't really tell if you're connected without checking connected device.

Consumer review (cnet.com)

Many have tried but few succeed. This is a winner!

I've owned (or currently own) Logitech, Creative ZiiSound DX3, two Bose SoundDock units, Sony, Philips and iHome models. But my favorite until now is my Altec Lansing model 725. It is half the price of many others AND has rechargeable battery,...

VERY good sound; easy to set up & operate; rechargeable battery; stylish design; remote is intuitive & stows in back; best bass & treble clarity in its class, BY FAR; solid & well-built; streams from ANY device, not only Apple; built-in ca

can't think of any, except "clicking" sound when you use your iPhone to change functions or to take a call.

Great sounding device that & compatible lot of products

I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas because she has a Droid and isn't sure if she'll change to an iPhone or not. Well, this device lets you stream ANYTHING that has bluetooth or USB wireless (i.e., a computer). Having a party? Simply unplug...

Contrary to the editorial review, it has GREAT sound, esp for it's size Compatibility with whatever Bluetooth + Wireless Battery backup Remote - esp when using it for PC

Pricey - I think $120 is about right. Doesn't charge (but that's kind of the point by not having a cradle).
