Altec Lansing iMT702 inMotion Max review: Altec Lansing iMT702 inMotion Max

Altec Lansing iMT702 inMotion Max

The inMotion Max is a portable iPod or iPhone speaker system that flaunts an industrial design and includes a rechargeable battery, remote control, auxiliary input, and an FM radio with RDS support.

The sound of the inMotion Max lacks for low end and doesn't include features such as Bluetooth, USB passthru, AM radio, video output, or subwoofer output.

The inMotion Max isn't the smallest, loudest, or most advanced portable iPod speaker we've seen, but it strikes a satisfying middle ground at a fair price.

Altec Lansing inMotion Max iMT702

in the sense that it doesn't require an electrical outlet. Nor does its larger size mean that it gets booming bass. And we heard distortion at higher volumes.

Sturdy, attractive design. Rechargeable battery for added portability. Works with iPods and iPhones

Speakers lack strong bass response. Sound distortion at high volumes. A bit large to be truly portable. No video out. Only four radio presets. Limited remote

The portable inMotion Max iPod dock works with iPhones and sports a cool, rugged lookbut it distorts at high volumes and is less portable than one would hope.

The Altec Lansing inMotion MAX Portable Speaker for iPhone and iPod Review

Altec Lansing IMT702 review

You're spoiled for choice where iPod docks are concerned – this Altec Lancing IMT702 is a poor example

Good spec ; nicely portable

Sounds muddled at best ; low frequencies prone to rattling and distortion

You’re spoiled for choice where iPod docks are concerned, but this is a poor example
